Celebs you listen to

Most people don't want to hear celebs opinions, but who are some celebs that you actually would listen to because of their opinions on certain things?

For me....

Chuck D
Ice-T (say what you want about him, he does have some valid opinions)
Bruce Campbell
Kevin Smith

F a celebrety opinion-but I know exactly what cher gettin @.

Kevin Smith is a total Dbag-why people think he's talented is so far past me it's serious. Ice-T changes his POV to whomever got the mike in his face.

But Chuck D-He can speak for a whole generation. I wish he'd take Russ Parr/ Tom Joyner's place as a black over air voice. Not even just black folks, Chuck got his hands on the beat. How much more effed up would our hip hop sensibilities be w/ out the P.E. anchor. Ain't no swayin w/ him. We so need more of that. If he was runnin for office I might vote.

Frank Sinatra - No one is (well, was) more qualified in schooling people in the art of class, swagger and confidenece.

Hayden Panettiere - Bias aside, she's heck of a lot more insightful than any star in her age range.

I listen to comedians who have something to say. MattBearPig's examples of Penn & Teller and Carlin are on my list (along with Lewis Black, Chris Rock, and others). These are comedians who know how to get angry, and throw the truth in your face in a way that makes you both laugh and think.

I think stand-up comedians are the modern day equivalent of philosophers. They're guys (and gals) whose job is to stand up and tell you what they think about life. Sometimes it's insightful. Sometimes, however, you get those guys who just tell you weird stories with wacky results and/or puns. And really, there's nothing wrong with a comedian who only wants to make you laugh with silly junk. I just happen to respect the ones that actually have something to say.
