Yes, but my initial point is that Bay claimed the size of the alt mode being scanned has to be relevant to the size of the robots mass. Prime can't scan and become a WV Bug, because it's too small a vehicle for his mass. All this is according to Bay's rules about Transformers, not mine. So if Scorponok is allowed to scan a scorpion, and use that as his alt mode, then why did Bay make Scorponok an exception to the rule....?

Well, I think Transformers could scan anything they'd want, but a WV Bug as big as a Truck would probably raise some suspicions.

Well, he wasn't supposed to be seen anyway. Why else did he move under the earth? His task was to go after remaining survivors and dispose of them. Not blend in.

'Blending in', is the whole point of TF's having alt mode's in the first place. 'Robots in Disguise'......

If they don't want to blend in, they could just walk around Earth in their robot modes.

I don't see what the problem is. Scorponoks task in the movie is just to dispose of survivors. And the Scorpion mode obviously allows for better movement in the desert terrain.

It's not like he was in a populated city like Barricade where he had to keep a low profile.

I don't see why people are throwing a tizzy over Megatron. We don't know what the circumstances behind his return are, since last we saw of him he was dead. I'm not a fan of Bay myself, but give him the benefit of the doubt here.

Maybe he get's retrieved by the Fallen and will be revived by Unicron near the end and will have to do his bidding in return. Similar to the 80's movie where was left for dead in space and repaired by Unicron.

Of course Megatron wouldn't like that one bit and maybe in the 3rd Movie we'll have him trying to use Unicron for his own gain.

I've read that the current rumor from a previous draft was that the Autobots revive him to deal with Starscream and/or the Fallen. If that's the case, I expect that 1) we're getting more interaction between the warring factions, 2) this sequel will at least have some complexity, and 3) Starscream's gonna get it once Megatron regains control over the Decepticons.

Still waiting for my Unicron, Bay...

You know, at first I was mad that they changed Megatron because I liked his jet mode from the first film, but that tank is all sorts of sweet - I just wish his head wasn't exposed... AGAIN.

Can't wait to see this thing fully rendered and moving on the big screen!

He could have easily chosen/become a drill-like vehicle to burrow into the sand.

But what if Blackout had released him in the city, he then changes alt mode. The whole point is that Bay's logic for explaining why and how TF's choose certain alt modes get's completely ignored when it comes to Scorponok by having him use a tiny creature like a scorpion, as his alt mode.

ahh i dont know i mean even if times are hard the autobots all are coming to the world i dont think they will use him for help but then again optimus prime revive in G1 He helped megatron from the virus that was making all the Autobots and Decepticons attack one another. so maybe that might be it but then again it would surcum to maybe the Death Of Optimus..

Looks like the Landmaster tank from Starfox and Attacker from ID4 had a baby.

at least he has a big cannon. Although his movement will be hindered in this movie, a tank can't get around as quick as a jet.

Well you have to remember that he's an alien tank. So chances are he'll be able to do things that a normal tank wouldn't be able to do. But as a whole? I like the look so far. I just hope we get some actual screen time/development between him and Starscream.

I understand your perspective and somewhat agree with it. However, I was under the impression that Blackout choose his design in the desert from a helicopter that was shot down. So it makes sense that Skorpnok's mode resulted from something scanned in the desert. I'm sure that at some point Skorpnok realized that his alt mode was conspicuous and he would have to hide in the sand. SKorpnok's mode may have simply been the result of a mistake that turned out to be irrelevant. If Skorpnok had stayed with Blackout I'm sure he would have scanned something else to try and blend in another environment.
