A belief system? yes. But an organized religion? No. He has found a way to embrace his beliefs in a way that removes the trappings of being part of an organized religion.

Man, on a thread like this you'll have to come up with a better argument than "god doesn't show himself to have existence cause it might interfer with our free will", or that the bible is conclusive evidence for the existence of god. But if you can come up with some mature arguments please post them. You never know, you might even be able to save our souls.... if we have any.

I wasn't criticizing him, I was just pointing out that it was an oxy-moron. If he found a way to practice what he believes in I have no problem with it as long it doesn't hinder our society or close-off scientific growth to that particular person.

Technically, no. If you disagree with all world religions, you would be non religious. If you say there is no "God" you would be Atheist, but what if there was a higher power besides God and an afterlife that was not his and you believed in those?

You would then be someone who accepts after life and higher power(s) while still being Atheist.

It's like the guy who marries a woman who has an adult daughter. The man's father marries the daughter and both couples have children. That man just became his own grandpa.

In this case the "guy" is actually an atheist and the "woman" is those ideals.

Techinally a belief in god and an after-life is a religion.. Maybe not Christianity which from your point is the only god your equating (There are a few you know). Also, what does technical incest have to do with this?

But I think there should be a distinction between religion/political theism and individual belief systems/thesim.
