Budget for Iron Man
Sorry if there's a similar thread (I couldn't find one), but according to this article:
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...,7411629.story The Budget is $135 Million. Is that true? IMDB has $186 million which seems a bit high. |

Wizard reported $186 million in most feature articles and interviews. So take it for what its worth.

I know Marvel reported that contractually they would not spend more then $165 million on any individual self produced movie. It's stipulated in their 525 million dollar financial deal with Merrill Lynch. Favreau has stated that he was always on time and on budget. Since Marvel never filed or reported excess, I highly doubt that $186 million number. The production budget has to be under $165 million.

I certainly hope that is the real budget, because it would be stupid for a studio to spend that much on a fairly unknown character, unless that movie is staring Will Smith. lol
