PS3: Slim

Here we go. ANOTHER update of a console to make it smaller and lighter. I know why companies do it, but for some reason it REALLy ticks me off.

they are just making the heat sink small because with smaller chips to cool such a large one would be over kill. it's changes like this that help them to price cut.

I know its a good thing, but for some reason, I hate console updates. I wish it was done from the beginning instead of waiting till the end of a generation to get the best product.

I know thats the way it works, but it rubs me the wrong way.

size doesnt bother me. I think it would only be an issue if I moved my PS3 around like I have with my past systems, but its stayed in the same spot since I purchased it last year. Size is a non issue

Mine has moved twice.. once when I moved.. and a second time when I put it in a much more open area so its better ventilated.

how heavy is a PS3 compared to a 360 with a HD? I took my 360 to LA and lugged it in a padded carry bag and i thought my right arm was gonna end up a few inches longer the the left

I believe the PS3 is about 3 lbs heavier.

A console shouldn't be too small, nor too big. To my taste the Wii is miniature, that thing is almost small enough to fit in my pocket, what's the next the Nintendo Wii Portable.

definitely won't be this year. i'd say maybe 2010. the PS2 slim was released 4 years after the original PS2 was released, so if they follow the same logic...we might see the PS3 slim in late 2010.

The PS3 is a monster. I didnt realize it was as heavy as it was, i mean i thought my 360 was pretty heavy but damn.
