Teaser Trailer Discussion

I didnt see a thread for this, but if there is already one, please delete or lock.
Anyways, when do you think we will get a teaser for this? TDK released its teaser a year before it came out, do you think we will get one w/ X-Files?? And also, what would you like to see in the trailer?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was with the Incredible Hulk. They've been filming for a while now so they must have at least a minute and a half of usable footage to scrap together a teaser.

I'd say the trailer will be in one of the three: The Dark Knight, X-Files or Tropic Thunder.

I want to see a teaser just hearing Logan talking about how he can't remember anything, where he's from, what he's doing here and why he has these claws. Then I would like to see a scene of Stryker talking about an operation and the candidates for it and maybe see Creed attacking Silver Fox.

Hey I'd be all for it being attached to either Hulk or the Dark Knight I'm seeing both along with Hell Boy 2 so if its attached to that one also I'd be down with that. If any of them have a Wolverine teaser attached it will prob be just three claws scratching threw the screen and having Wolverines title come across the claw marks. I'm looking forward to the preview more than any thing, I hope they do that so cool. They need to have Wolverine in it and DeadPool ^^

Wolverine is chasing somebody through a crowded street, it's late but people are still out the night life is wild and there seems to be a festival going on.

WOLVERINE
"HEYYY"

He continues to chase the assailant down an alleyway, it appears to be a dead end.

WOLVERINE
"Hey Bub...I'm not after you, I just want to know why they want me"

The shadowy figure turns around, it's dark you can't make out his features, but his eyes flash red.

Wolverine takes out a cigar, and searches for a light. He looks at the figure, and sniffs.

WOLVERINE
"You got a light?"

The shadowy figure shows an empty palm, he quickly motions his wrist up and down and there is a card in his fingers. An energy pulse from a couple of his fingerless gloves makes the plastic flicker revealing a Jack of spades as it screeches alight. He light's his cigarette and then walks over to Wolverine.

WOLVERINE
"Nice trick"

His Red Eyes glow as he looks at Wolverine passing him the burning playing card.

WOLVERINE
"Thanks...er.."

GAMBIT
"Gambit, you can call me Gambit monami"

WOLVERINE
"Listen gumbo why are they after me, why did they mention this Weapon X thing...what is it?"

Before Gambit can answer they both turn to see somebody landing. He slowly gets up, he has what appears to be a belt with large containers and 2 Katana on his back.

DEADPOOL
"Wooo what do we have here? Whatch'ya doin Grandad??? Who's the young guy....o wait...I'm sorry am I interrupting? Please do continue, that is if you haven't already taken his number"

GAMBIT
Mon frere, and who might you be? You are the friendly neighborhood idiot, non?

Deadpool chuckles. Wolverine releases his first claw and points it at Deadpool, snarling. Gambit fans a few cards, charging them.

A two on one fight occurs between Wolverine and Gambit vs Deadpool. Ending with a wolverine title.

Sounds cool. Fade away from the 3-way battle to show Sabretooth standing watching the whole thing, with Beak behind him.

The festival folk are actually the other 10 000 mutants rumoured to be in the film

Yeah, they really need to put Deadpool in the first teaser. As long as he and Wolverine are in it, I'll be happy. Gambit can show up in later trailers, if they run out of time in the first one.

I got an idea...

A darkly lit room with a single table in the centre with a rusty old computer on it. Wolverine steps out of the shadows, takes a seat and logs on to the internet.

A couple of seconds later...

WOLVERINE
What the hell. I got my new movie coming out next year and everybody is talking about these losers, Deadpool and Gambit. What the hell!? It's my movie! MINE! People should talk about me! Talk about me damn you!

Suddnely, a flash of light hits him from the back. A guy steps into the light...

Payback's a *****, ain't it bub?

ANNOUNCER'S VOICE
X-men Origins:Wolverine. Because Gambit fans still need to give us their money.

It'll show up over the summer, I'm sure......

Though despite my colleague's hopes, I really doubt a full trailer featuring anything more than Wolverine will show up until the fall/winter.

Not every film produces full length trailers a year in advance like them Batman folks.

I'm thinking that if something is done at Comic Con, perhaps there will be a trailer after that. Also, Hugh's movie "Australia" - also a Fox movie and a possible Oscar contender - comes out in the US November 14 and I bet a trailer will be shown with that, plus it's six months before the movie. I know not every movie is the same, but "Australia" wrapped December 21 and the first trailer was out on May 18.

For X2, there was a special Comic-Con trailer but the first theatrical trailer wasn't released until November. The second trailer was attached to Daredevil with a Valentine Day release.

There's a danger of general audiences getting bored with superhero movies this summer, so they might be better waiting until later in the year for a theatrical trailer.

Another thought is that with Hugh Jackman committed to promoting Australia heavily this fall, Fox may not want to confuse things by promoting his other upcoming movie too soon.

Yah that would be cool, put Gambit in with the bigger longer previews. It should be maybe Wolverine V.S DeadPool a bit in the clip or maybe a conversation between them about Weapon X and who's involved. If they do it that way they can show other characters who apart of the Weapon X program than maybe some how add in Gambit, like ask who the big chese in charge is and Gambit comes in and gives the replie. I think that would be the best way for a short teaser, give an explanation of Weapon X kind of and not give to much away of the series and add in our three big characters. It would sure get the fans going

Man I can't wait for the preview, when will it come out? Do we have a date for one? I forget.

This movie is about Wolverine.

Granted, is has an enormous cast now, but the teaser trailer will almost surely feature nothing but Wolverine. MAYBE you'll see Sabes or Stryker.

The full length ones will likely show Deadpool, Gambit, and whoever else they wanna cram in there. But don't expect that until November or December.

I love that everyone seems more interested in Gambit and Deadpool more than Wolverine or anyone else in the movie.

Well let's not get carried away here. First of all, they wouldn't be making a Wolverine movie, a Wolverine cartoon and a bajillion Wolverine comics if Wolverine wasn't a genuine cash cow for Marvel. Wolverine sells, while Gambit and Deadpool generate discussion. They are two characters that have small but very loyal, very vocal fanbases.

Furthermore, it just so happens that Gambit fans at least have waited for a long, long, loooong time to see Gambit in a movie and now that we will we are so excited that we will disect every little tidbit of information. We are starving. Throw us a bone.

Hmm You have a point, first teaser will yah prob just have Wolverine in it which is cool since he and DeadPool are my fav Weapon X characters. I just hope the big previews show DeapPool and other popular ones too

Oh, they will. Gambit and Deadpool have quickly become high selling points for this movie, so they'll show up in the first full theatrical trailer, I'd guess.

OMG, I just had this random scene in my head.

*I'm in the theatere, sitting there and a teaser comes on. Gambit appears
several times. Every time I do one of those "break it up" whistles where
you put your fingers in your mouth.*

movie patrons.

I am way too shy for that, (Though for Gambit's first movie appearance,
who knows what I might do?!LOL!), but if there's any cheering when I see the movie,
I'll probably be right in there with it with my fellow Gambit fans.

I can't really think of anything for a teaser/trailer. I just know it would have
to have a lot of action. Because, that's how it goes with action movies.
Plus, it gets everyones attention.

Maybe I'll think up something later.
