Iron Fist casting call and movie thread

The animated thread, brought up the idea for a discussion for an Iron Fist live action movie. Now we know Ray Park is interested, but I for one think a better actor should get the part of Danny Rand/Iron Fist. Maybe Ray could be the stunt double.

There have been a few names suggested around and my two picks so far for the role are Ryan Gosling or Hayden Christensen. I think someone young should get the part to portray Danny's zen like attitude with a bit of comedic relief as well as his playboy billionaire side.





Out of the two, I favor Hayden for the role, he's young and I think if he got fit like in part III of Star Wars he'd be great. They should also have Danny's new suit for the movie.

So what do you guys think? Anyother ideas? Like should Luke Cage, Misty and Collen guest star? Should we see Danny's training in K'un Lun and then arriving in New York?

Suggest casting choices and express ideas.

Ryan Gosling would work. Anyone but Ray Park. Someone who can actually act.

Ithink Charlie Hunnam would work too.

Keep Iron Fist away from the movie verse Heroes for Hire. Iron Fist story should be the recent tournament arc. Its a good story but also explains that Iron Fist origin without a pesky origin story.

Heroes for Hire should be Luke Cage with Misty and Colleen.

Maybe a sequel where Iron Fist returns from the tournie, his city overrun with crime and hires the H4H to help clean up the streets

Never would of thought of it myself, but Gossling seems like a really cool choices, he's young, a good actor, might pull it off.

Because of the mask I can imagine it be easy enough to have a double do all the martial arts, is Iron Fist owned by Marvel? If so, doesn't look like it be on their agenda for a long time anyways.

Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool. Ray Park can't act. Jensen Ackles works better as Hawkeye. Tall & stiff Hayden doesn't fit to be Danny Rand.

That leaves Gosling. But I like Jason Statham more as Danny Rand. But Gosling is the more probable choice because Iron Fist will not be made until 3-4 years from now.

RYAN GOSLING- very natural as Danny. He's my choice.

Hayden is too angry and stiff to be Danny, Ray Park too old and ugly, Reynolds too cocky and obnoxious, Ackles too boring and pretty boy-ish. For the others: a blonde Josh Hartnett MIGHT work.

its hard to imagine iron fist realistically being seen as a big franchise character. i think marvel will make one and hope its popular enough for a sequel a la punisher and ghost rider (tho hopefully a tad more artfully done) that said, id be fine with jason statham, hes a pretty good action star who will allow them to spend more of what budget they have on the visual elements of the movie. that would be fine with me.

I think Gosling is a good choice. I also think that Misty Knight has to be in it, if they are considering a romantic angle in anyway. no need for the H4H unless you are trying to introduce Luke Cage into the movie universe or something.

I think Gosling is a good choice too. He was great in the movie Fracture and I think he also gives off the presence of Danny.

Misty should definitely be in the movie, but who could portray her?

I think that first Marvel should make...Power Man and Iron Fist. Instead of taking up most of a first film about the origin of each character, that can be told in flashbacks. Power Man and Iron fist has the potential to be Marvel's version of Lethal Weapon but with superheroes. I would Set Power Man and Iron Fist in the 1970's when their characters were introduced. These two heroes mainly fight street level criminals, the mob, kidnappers, drug dealers, as well as Ninja, and Danny Rand's Uncle You could even introduce The Daughters Of The Dragon Misty Knight and Colleen Wing as well. My cast for Power Man and Iron Fist would be...

I think Misty should be in the movie as a love interest. What about Orson? Do you guys think he should be in the movie? Or the sequel?

Why should...Chuck Norris be a punchline? He is one of the greatest non asian martial artists ever to be in film. The character of Yu-Ti is caucasian as he is the brother of Wendell Rand, Danny Rand's Dad. I think he would be perfect. Actually Iron Fist had a relationship with Colleen Wing in the 70's comics as well. Misty Knight had her own relationship with a New York Police Detective in the comics so he could be her love interest in the film. Before It becomes a soap opera that is.

It's a tie between Ackles and Gosling for me really. I think either would be terrific for the role.

I think the Heroes for Hire should be worked into an Iron Fist movie as something that's just there and already established. It's just what his friends do and he used to be a part of that. Maybe work in some conflict there.

Why is Reynolds, he's already Deadpool. That should keep him occupied for the next couple years (if the character's popular with audiences) & he also did that guy in Blade 3.

Just keep up the buzz. Eventually some fansite guy will ask him about it and so forth. Its a whole thing. I definitely think thats how Bale got the job. He was a fan fave (if I remember correctly) for the role for awhile.

And Sydney Poitier is perfect as a young Misty.

And Bruce Willis as Orson Randall.

Charlie Hunnam is quite a good choice actully, he looks alot like some of the drawings of Danny Rand recently although I don't think he is well known enough or able to to star in a movie on his own.

I found the pic through a search. It's Danny's new suit that he has in his comic, the only thing that's changed is the collar. Other than that, it would be the perfect suit for Iron Fist in the movie.

Willis was my choice as Orson as well. I think if ever he and Gosling got on screen, they'd have good chemestry like Danny and Orson did. A student teacher thing.

Who should be Lei Kung? Or Steel Serpent?
