Well I just wanted to ask how you get rigid collodion off. Does it peel off or do you need something to get it off w/. And would it be wise for a 13 year old like me to use rigid collodion. I'm really spotty too XD
As with anything you put on your skin, test it on your arm first to see how it reacts and how hard it is to come off, but honestly it should peel right off at the end of the day after having it on for several hours, may have to rub some of the tiny pieces off with a wet rag, but it comes off pretty easy no worries.

Just came from party city and went ahead and bought the rubies scars/make up kit, since not many people have seen what they actually look like here ya go, not too bad really for the price I mean, better than paying 50 bucks for the same thing on ebay for the scars alone, these at least have skin texture to them, you would naturally have to cut them to the shape of your face so you dont look like you have bologna stuck to your face, lol. Im still doing the collodion/liquid latex route but here ya go.

I know how to make the molds I just don't know how to apply the silicon. That's what will take the most time for me.
silicone products like skin tight can be applied before they are set. conversly you can just use some silicone as an adhesive to already molded silicone prosthetics.

Thought I would also post in this thread the technique ill be doing for my scars, the red will be the initial guideline fo rthe scars with the collodion the followed by the black being the more filled in areas of collodion followed by the green part being liquid latex applied using the dabbing technique with a q-tip or something all around the collodion giving it the raided up effect all around, the liquid latex will also act as a sealant around the collodion so it doesnt start to peel halfway through the night.

Dont take this the wrong way but it looks nothing like that in the movie.

Yea i know, like i said this is for the collodion method, not a blueprint to make the prosthetics so all you need is the basic lines since the collodion expands when you put on it

Ah, fair enough. You might wanna make the 'tail' on the 'Y' lower lip scar longer, if you look at that scar in the movie (in this thread a few pages back you can see it not covered in make up) its alot longer.

Nice work, Clint!

I think I'll cut these out and glue them to my face for Halloween...save myself a bunch of work!

You guys are good.

I don't have the time (or the talent) to make molds, test things, ect so I bought "scar face tattoo's" from a Halloween shop in town. They're not 3D but you can cut out your own scars and then apply them to your face. From what I've read they don't crack or peel off and you simply use baby oil to take them off.

I know my scar's won't be 100% accurate but I'm fine with that...I'm doing this for one night only, and if I get the "hey man, your Joker make up looks awesome" from even one person...I'll be happy.

I'd like to find some pre-made scars but at this point...it looks doubtful, and I'm not paying the 100+ ebayers are asking for them.

Um, not sure if anyone else noticed, but the design is screwed up. Whats with the sculpted smile wrinkles in the scars? Did WB really green light these for production given that even some of the home made ones people made didn't have those stupid wrinkle lines?

sorry if I sound anal, but I hate licensees who alter a screen accurate design and actually screw it up and make it look worse than a Billy Bob type making make-up out of carpet adhesive in his basement FX lab..

Erm, hi! I don't know if this will help at all or not, but here's what my scars looked like when I gave them a go:

And apparently I can't post pictures yet. Meh.

Sorry. I suck at technicalities. Hopefully this will work. I posted step-by-step pictures as to how I did the whole make-up process--including the scars. Hope this helps.

Some questions about rigid collodion:

1. Does it hurt when applying?
2. How long does it stay on?
3. How can you remove it?
4. Where can I buy it? (Not online)

thought i'd throw this on this thread as well. this is a test shot of my left-side scar made from liquid latex in a mold and applied with spirit gum. i still have some corrections to make to the mold/cast itself, and a little more practice on blending the edges... but so far so good.

i should have all 3 scars finished by this weekend and i'll try to post some pics. i plan on making many sets of these and trading anyone who's interested for some cool items. nothing major... just some bizarre/unique junk... i like junk

Yea I ordered it all in one bulk, the collodion, the liquid latex, the nicotine tooth enamel from them, but you should be able to find some liquid latex at a "spirit halloween" store if you have any in your area or at Party City, maybe.
