Default A REAL strength enhancing robotic suit is created...

It still has a few kinks to work out, but looks promising for the future.

yea i read about that the other day...when i first watched Iron Man, i thought to myself that something similar to the Iron Man suit isnt that far off considering how much we've been able to do with technology these days...I think its really cool how these robotic suits enhance your strength i wonder if the end product is gonna have a jet back or something so you can fly like Iron Man!

Quiz: Is your ‘Iron Man’ knowledge iron-clad?
How much do you know about Tony Stark and the comic that created him?
Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) makes some tweaks to his suit in "Iron Man.

Thanks for taking our quiz. You answered 100% of the questions correctly.
All correct. Your Iron Man knowledge is iron-clad.

1. As with many superheroes, Iron Man’s origin story has been told and retold many times over the years, each time updated to better reflect the spirit of the current era. In the new movie, Tony Stark builds a suit of powered armor after being injured and taken prisoner in Afghanistan. In the recent animated movie “The Invincible Iron Man,” a different version of the same story happens instead in China, probably so that the filmmakers could make use of his enemy Mandarin as the villain. But in what country, a political hot spot of its day, did Stark’s transformation into Iron Man take place in his first appearance, “Tales Of Suspense #39”?
Correct
The correct answer is B, Vietnam. The issue came out in March 1963, as the U.S. was beginning to escalate its military activity in that country.

2. Iron Man’s co-creator Stan Lee was fond of coming up with affectionate nicknames for his characters. Spider-Man was “Webhead,” Daredevil was “Hornhead,” and Iron Man was... what?
Correct
The correct answer is C, Shellhead.

3. Stark’s mechanical genius helped him become one of the richest men in the world of Marvel Comics. Which of the following comic-book characters was ranked below Tony Stark on Forbes Magazine’s 2007 edition of their annual list of the wealthiest fictional characters, which estimated his wealth at $6 billion?
Correct
The correct answer is D, Lex Luthor. The others are all, according to Forbes, richer than Stark.

4. Every superhero has a fatal weakness, and Iron Man’s was that a shrapnel wound to his heart meant he could never remove his armor, which also functioned as a pacemaker keeping him alive. But in the late 1970s, Iron Man also picked up another devastating personal problem, which continues to plague the character. What is it?
Correct
The correct answer is C. Shellhead’s alcoholism was famously depicted on the cover art of his November 1979 story “Demon In A Bottle.”

5. Iron Man was a founding member of which long-running superhero team which debuted in 1963?
Correct
The correct answer is B, The Avengers. Other charter members included Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor and the Hulk.

6. Tony Stark’s business acumen has also helped him gain entry into the world of politics. What Cabinet-level position did Stark hold briefly in the early 2000s?
Correct
The correct answer is A, secretary of defense. He took the position to try to prevent his armor technology from being misused.

7. In his second comic-book appearance, Iron Man faces off against Gargantus, a giant club-wielding Neanderthal who can hypnotize people with his eyes. As if that wasn’t weird enough, Gargantus also harbored a surprising secret. What?
Correct
The correct answer is A, the robot vanguard of an alien invasion force. Iron Man beats Gargantus by tearing his body apart with powerful magnets. You certainly can’t say they didn’t pack a lot of plot into 1960s Marvel comics.

8. In another early comics adventure, Iron Man’s enemy is, surprisingly enough, a now-forgotten villain with the same name as a character that is now one of Marvel’s most prominent superheroes. Who was it?
Correct
The correct answer is B, Doctor Strange. The future Avengers mainstay Hawkeye is in fact a villain in his first Iron Man appearance, but he’s not, unlike Dr. Strange, a completely different character.

9. The personality of Tony Stark was modeled after what colorful real-life playboy inventor and industrialist?
Correct
The correct answer is C, Howard Hughes. A pioneer in aviation technology, Hughes also made headlines for his flamboyant lifestyle and courting of Hollywood starlets.

10. Quite understandably, the “Iron Man” soundtrack makes use of Black Sabbath’s classic heavy-metal song “Iron Man.” But according to guitarist and songwriter Geezer Butler, the song’s inspiration has nothing to do with the superhero. What’s the song actually about?
Correct
The correct answer is D. Maybe he should have been called Irony Man, eh?

11. Robert Downey, Jr. will make a brief cameo appearance as Iron Man in another Marvel Comics film this summer, “The Incredible Hulk.” And speaking of cameos, Samuel L. Jackson will appear in “Iron Man” as well — an instance of literally perfect casting, since the appearance of this character in the comics was explicitly inspired by Jackson’s own looks. Who is it?
Correct
The correct answer is A, Nick Fury. Originally a white WWII veteran in his initial comics stories, Nick Fury was reimagined in Marvel’s “Ultimate” series with Jackson’s face.

12. Tony Stark’s best friend, Jim Rhodes — who’s played by Terrence Howard in the film — is one of the only other characters to have taken on the Iron Man persona, which he held for a long time in the 1980s. He also sometimes wears a variant version of Iron Man’s armor under his own superhero identity, which is ... what?
Correct
The correct answer is A, War Machine.
