Does Clark succeed/fail in preventing Lex from killing millions in the future?

Okay, this just occured to me. By now it's been established that if Clark never came to earth, Lex and Brainiac would've eventually destroy most of the planet by use of nuclear missles.

However, if anyone remembers the woman named Cassandra back from season one in the episode called "hourglass", she saw in her visions of the future of Clark saving ppl in most of her visions (presumbly as superman), yet she also saw the vision of Lex in the rain of blood while wearing the infamous white suit and black glove.

So in conclusion, does Clark end up stopping Lex in the future from killing millions, if not billions of lives or is it that no matter how many times Clark saves someone, and defeats lex, Lex will still be responsible somehow for murdering countless ppl? Or there's the whole scenario that was presented at the end of "artic" that Lex does in fact beat Clark in the end for the fight against good vs. evil.

Any thoughts?

Well, when you take into account that the universe seen in "Apocalypse" was created by Jor-El as a vision for Clark, with a deliberately-unsolvable problem...it doesn't quite mesh. In the reality of the series, Clark would always be there to stop such a huge threat, unless he deliberately chose to reject his destiny forever. That same choice resulted in the Kryptonian Key being activated, which triggered the vision. Presumably, if Clark ever tried again to permanently reject his calling, Jor-El would be there to put him back on track.

yet you fail to address the other vision. Maybe the old lady saw what people's destinies were, without hinderances. A big what if... quite sad that the show doesn't take into account things like this.

Lex wearing the white suit and causing an apocalyptic disaster was part of Cassandra's vision (continuity), but Jor-El's alternate reality is not the same thing as a vision of the future.

so then I'm assuming that means that Clark does somehow fail to prevent Lex from causing the apocalyptic disaster that Cassandra saw in her vision.

after Clark is killed in the last episode of SV by Doomsday.

Cassandra's vision (1.06 Hourglass) was symbolic, the skeletons and the rain of blood falling on Lex represent the danger he could be for humanity in the future, but we already know Superman will stop him. Keep in mind DC Comics have to approve what SV does.

Gough said DC Comics reads every script and will red-flag any thing that seems too far off the canon or if there are corporate issues.

Totally agree. Simply symbolic. My interpetation of her vission was that Lex would become President, completely turn evil, and hurt/kill alot of people. Which we know happens in several versions of Lex from comics to cartoons.

Cassandra holds out her hand. Lex looks at it for a second, then sighs and takes it.

A bright flash opens up to the presidential seal on the floor of the Oval Office. We pan up and see Lex, clad in a white suit, standing behind the desk in the Oval Office, looking very Presidential. In a fast forward motion, we see Lex walk over to a set of glass doors leading outside. He opens the doors and looks out. Another bright flash opens and reveals a close-up of Lex's eye. As we pull back, we see Lex, clad in his white suit, standing in the middle of a field of sunflowers with mountains in the background. He looks around, then leans over to sniff one of the flowers. He then brings his black gloved hand up to caress the sunflower. As he does, the sunflower withers and dies. Soon, the entire field has withered and died, leaving Lex standing in a field filled with human bones. Lex looks around, amused. The sky blackens, lightning flashes, and thunder rumbles. Suddenly, the dark clouds become blood red. Lex looks up, studying the sky. As he does several drops of blood land on his suit. He looks confused for a moment, and holds up his arms. We see only one of his hands is clad in a black leather glove, while the other is not. He looks up as the blood raining from the sky falls on him, covering his face and his suit. He holds his arms up, almost embracing the blood rain as it falls, completely covering him.

Another bright flash pulls up back to the present, and we see Cassandra's wide, unseeing eyes as she stares blankly ahead, not saying a word. Lex waits, but finally can't wait anymore.

Cassandra: [Amused] A fraud, huh? [Chuckles People are afraid of the unknown, Clark. They only want to know if everything's gonna turn out all right. I can't guarantee that. What I can show you are signposts on your journey. What you do with them is up to you.

Lex already has the blood of many on his hands.

Yep.. It was Clark's Kobiashi Maru. But Unlike Kirk, Superman doesn't Cheat.
