If you talk up the family values and ethics, you better be living it. We don't expect Dems to hold to moral standards. That's why it's 10 times worse when a conservative gets caught up.

Like McGreevy in New Jersey. He got caught and the media paints him as some oppressed homosexual "living a lie". Boo Hoo. Instead of painting him as a scumbag that cheated on his loving wife by banging a "man", he is lauded as a hero for gay rights.

there's a huge difference, though. dems don't pretend to be morally superior. besides, scandals like this one are far more prevalent on the republican side lately. that's an indisputable fact. too many social conservatives are just self-loathing, repressed pricks. they love demonizing the gay community and railing on about the sanctity of marriage only we find out they're calling escort services or paying dudes to suck them off while they smoke meth. the morally-upright, family values, christian conservative politician is as much of a myth as the tooth fairy. i know people who've said the main reason they vote republican is because of their moral agenda. that's why i have a such a problem with these modern republicans. they lie through their teeth to gain power and **** things up when they get there. save the piety for church. i want a politician who's competent and honest, not a two-bit, pervert liar talking out of both sides of his mouth, or, in this case, chastising gays out of one side and sucking cock out of the other.

Seriously - I'd LOVE to hear him explain his actions then. Has any man ever seen anyone do what the cop described Craig doing in the bathroom stall for any reason other than sex? Is Craig going to claim that he ran out of toilet paper and was trying to borrow some (without simply asking for it?). Yeah, right.

If the guy's a closeted homosexual I feel sorry for him, but anyone - gay or straight - that gets busted for public restroom sex deserves every bit of prosecution and humiliation that comes (heh) their way.

No...it's not a myth. There are cats in there that really live it. Cats that tow the line and really care for their families. Just as there are some Dems that do as well.
