Default Would a Live Action Series be Possible?

Would a Live Action Series be Possible?

Before you start yelling about costs and the like, think about for a moment. A list of points I thought of:

1.Currently their are plenty of shows on TV at the moment filled with realistic CGI.

2. If it was done to make the Transformers look like CGI version of their G1 cartoon counter parts and thus had more flat panels and less movie parts like in the film. (Citron commercials look pretty good.)

3. Transformations could be pre-rendered and the same transformation shot's reused for numerous scenes.

4. Put aside the absolute crappy Power Ranger robot costumes and think for a moment how costume design/armour design has improved over the years, that a good FX person could realistically create a G1 style robot costume with some animiatornics for eyes and mouth. Now you would cut CGI costs down. Secondly think back to the series Hercules that often had giants interacting with humans, put a costume actor in front of bluescreen and you could have an autobot walking around with humans.

5. Limit the number of robots

6. Have a new story unrelated to the film....

7. Protoform robots would be very easy to do via a costume.

8. Of course human storys would play a major role to cut costs down, but doesn't mean it has to be silly.

9. A whole new story could be created, set in space, An
Autobot/human alliance ship searching for something?

Summary:
Before you call me crazy, think about it with an open mind. Costume/Fx design has improved to the point where some costumes and Animatronics look amazing. Of course an an autobot would not look as complex as its film counterpart, but could very nicely replicate its G1 cartoon counterpart...... Well thats my opinion.......

Now begin the attack and the flood of insults........

I've thought about this a bit myself, and the way I figure it, if they took an approach similar to the current run of TF comics - where each Transformer has some sort of proxy, a hologram or some kind of synthetic - they could almost get away with giving most of the screen time to the human cast and STILL focusing on the TFs in the process (ex: the G1 season 3 episode "Only Human").

I don't necessarily think it needs to be a straight-up rehash of G1, though. New designs every couple of years tend to move quicker off store shelves, which would give Hasbro a more viable incentive to even consider making such a series.

The reason I say G1 designs is they have very few showing parts and are more panelled and thus costumes would work.

Slick designed costumes would work. Having pre animated Transformations would cut costs. It could be done. It just would be different to the films.......

As much as I would love this idea to become reality, I would rather wait 10-20 years where hopefully the cost of doing it would be more doable

It could be achieved right now with a decent budget, like Star Gate or Heroes. With the right combination of CGI/Costumes and animatronics........

I`d expect a Final Fantasy : Advent Children or Resident Evil : Degeneration animated dvd movie/ tv series would be a more likely proposition for the next couple fo decades. In about 30/ 40 years it might be feasible but then again in about 40 years cgi movies will prob be realistic looking enough to make a live-action production rather pointless.

Basically a near-real cgi production would prob be more likely.

I think it could be done. And it'd be nice to see considering what we have now is kiddish crappy animated bull.

The Animation Beast Wars used was pretty expensive back then and what they did was cut down on characters. Used similar body lay outs when they did bring in new characters.

And that was a plus cause it helped alot with character development.

I think if this were to be done now it would have to be with the right company, a company that could afford the big budget.
