I told my friend this Wednesday that Diablo III would be announced either Friday the 27th, or Saturday the 28th, too.
This is effin' awesome, and the videos look freakin' sweet. I can't wait. |

This is a cool Diablo clone, it's pretty good in it's own right. |

Oh snap! It's about time that they made this official. We've been waiting long enough for Blizzard to follow up on the rampant success that was Diablo II. I have so many questions...
1) Who's the prophetess "Lya/Lia" (sp?)? 2) How does this continue from the Diablo II ending with Tyrael? 3) How can Diablo come back after his soul's been vanquished? 4) Why is Cain underground someplace? 5) Will the Witch Doctor replace the Necromancer? Here's hoping the answers come in the coming months... I love the Diablo series, just like i love Starcraft and Warcraft (minus World of Warcraft, because iīm not into MMO), so, iīll be eagerly waiting for this, and Starcraft II.

I actually prefer Diablo over Starcraft and Warcraft. Diablo II was the game that made me go from "gamer" to "diehard gamer."

This game looks like it has low/mid end pc's in mind, it doesn't look like a graphics monster like cryis.

Ditto on that, I fear I will be selling my soul once again to this franchise. The great thing about this is it looks like the original formula is still intact, the same feel and camera angle, kudos to Blizzard. It's like the old saying, if it aint broken don't fix it.

Among the news I heard about D3 is that you will be able to select the gender for each class, unlike the previous 2 installments where you'd be forced to choose a male paladin, a female amazon, etc. It's nice that you finally get to pick who you'd like to play as.
Back in the old days, my friends and I would play co-op via LAN, and it was probably the most fun we had. We'd make boss runs in order to get the drops, and toward the end most of our characters had awesome gears. I still have all my D2 characters in my HD. Unfortunately, most of my friends have married and/or moved oversea, so playing D3 will never be like the past.

I think they should leave the graphics as they were, I loved the Diablo II graphics. Man I just can't wait for this game. I will be pronounced dead when this is out.

Nah, D2 is way too old, and people won't want a new game with such dated graphics. I'm glad they updated the look of this game.

That's the great thing about it, it still looks like a Diablo game just with a better graphics engine.

Diablo II really rocked on 3dfx Glide and didn't look quite as good on Direct3D. I actually moved a Voodoo II Diamond Monster from a Win95 machine I had to a Win98 PC (with a 12MB Matrox Mystique in it) just for Unreal Tournament and Diablo II. ![]() Turn-based? How does "turn-based" factor into talk around Guild Wars and Diablo II comparisons?
