A few dozen Graphic novels, but TPBs as in Reprints Ė 0. I know itís purely a collectors preference but personally, I Only go after the Original Comics. Whether itís something really good that I would want the Originals in my collection for value or even if itís only to read, I would still rather track down lower grade copies of the Originals. Sometimes itís not as cheap or convenient of a way to go but hey, to me thatís part of the Hobby. jmo

I picked up Vengeance of Bane I & II. The first issue was about $20 and the second issue was $5, which I found a little odd, but oh well.

How are everyone's collections coming? (just thought it was time to resurrect the thread again)

I am at about 183 with 12 more on the way.

Got Superman Archives Vol. 1, Batman Prey (reprint), Batgirl: The Greatest Stories Ever Told, Alex Ross Justice, Catwoman: Trail of the Catwoman Vol. 1 and several X-men volumes (bought these after watching the 90's cartoon).

Since my last post, I had what looks like 104 books. Counting now, I have 135 Marvel books alone.

I got around 220 right now. God bless Strand books, the Good Will and Salvation Army.

I have about 6 longboxes of only TPB's/Graphic novels, my guess would be maybe about close to 400 almost and that adds up to a lot of money spent on them.

I try to avoid the Hardcovers and wait on the softcover if possible unless it's a major storyline or my favorite character is in it and I definitely don't buy those huge Omnibus ones, they would be a pain to read and store away plus they're expensive.

But the omnibuses are so damn pretty. I don't find them all that hard to read.

Omnibuses are quite hefty. I only own maybe 3 or 4. Too often the expense is not worth collecting them, unless you count deluxe editions as an omnibus which are often cheaper.

You have mentioned before that you own an ungodly amount of comics and trades. Where do you get most of them?

I have all my (read) trades and HCs in their own bookshelf. Which will be more than full once I finish the books I still need to read. I worry about space when I completely run out of it.

I like to read on the toilet and when I read the Walt Simonson Thor Omnibus my arms and legs start to go numb after reading an issue or two.

How long are you sitting on the toilet?

Doesn't matter, I got me some fat legs, so that doesn't become a problem for me. But then again, I don't have the Simonson book (not for lack of trying).

I'll sometimes spend an hour or two if I'm really into what I'm reading.

The Simonson book is a ****ing brick, but great stories with some fancy re-colored art.

Can't say I haven't done the same.

I'll get it one day. If I didn't get preoccupied with other crap I find for much, much cheaper (stupid Salvation Army and Good Will stores by work).

In all my 27 years of collecting comics I've gotten them at comic book stores, grocery stores, regular book stores, conventions and now for TPB's I mostly order them through Amazon since they have discounts.

The one place I avoid buying books is at Barnes & Noble since I've noticed they have a habit of placing a sticker barcode inserted between pages covering up a panel and word balloon therefore making it impossible to read.

Most times you can pull those off without doing damage to the book. At least, I have. But I tend to avoid purchasing books there as well unless it's an impulse buy.

I've picked up at least 3 books with those theft protection stickers in the middle. All of them have come out clean. I've only gotten them in my trades, too, never hardcovers.
