Default Should other Comic Book supporting characters be put in (and who?)

Here's what I'm wondering: Do you think that other supporting characters from the Bat-verse should be put into Nolan's universe? By supporting character I mean: "Not a criminal or masked crimefighter", people like Gordon, Fox and Alfred (and Dent before he got scarred).

If this has been done before, close it, sorry but the search function can be a bit weird at times.

I could very easily see Crispus Allen and Renee Montoya incorportated. Leslie Thompkins as well.

Lol the top three are the ones I voted for. I would love to see Arkham trying to retain order to his asylum but realizes he has moles in his facility: Harleen Quinnzel and Dr. Hugo Strange. How I see it would be Strange assigns Quinnzel to Joker's cell as more of an experiment than having her treat him psychiatrically. He would use her as a Guinea pig to see if she'd crack under Joker's whims, stories, and his brash nature.

Quinn would not crack but yet she'd feel sorry for him. She'd feel as he is a victim of society's cruelty and a victim of an abusive father and an unaccepting wife.

Strange would also be fascinated by the Batman and would hope to one day get him in Arkham so he could study him, understand him, but also find out who he really is. When Quinnzel decides to spring Joker from Arkham's nest, Strange would help in the escape, but once the cops arrive he would blame her solely as the one in charge of the whole thing. And when Batman would encounter her, Strange would just tell him her mind is lost and she did it all herself and he had no hand in freeing Joker or helping her.

by the way......I found some similarities between Bullock and one of the detective in TDK, the one watching at the joker in the interrogation room !

I like to Bullock and Montoya in a Nolan bat film. Even Vicky Vale as well.

How about Oracle?

Let me clarify. I'm not talking Barbara Gordon the daughter, I'm talking Barbara Gordon the wife.

It could be a storyline for what the Joker does to Gordon's wife to paralyze her...

Fox refuses to control the sonar, but perhaps Oracle would. Oracle is not a superhero name, but a codename for the base in the Gordon household.

It also leaves the door open for younger Barbara to be inspired to become Batgirl SOMEDAY (not now).

I think Janice Porter from Dark Victory would work quite well as the new Gotham City District Attorney and replacement to Harvey Dent.

Personally I always thought Bullock was a version of Flass from Year One (who they incidentally already included in BB) If you look at Bullock from TAS, Flass from Year One & Flass from BB, they're pretty much the same character, that shady cop who gets under Gordon's skin. Harley would be good, but I don't think she can be done without the Joker, and well......

I voted Harvey. I would of liked to see Sarah Essen but I just think were too far into the whole story to introduce her now (should of been introduced in TDK, if she were to be used). But whatever....

I was surprised that Bullock wasn't already a part of the cast; they should get Brian Howe to play him.

I think that due to the fact that Flass in BB had Bullock's appearance and Det. Stephens in TDK had Bullock's personality, I don't expect Bullock himself to appear in BB3.

I'd rather see Leslie Thompkins make an appearance (played by Ellen Burstyn) to help Bruce when his wounds become too much for Alfred to tend to.

I would like to see Crispus Allen, for some reason. Maybe as a new detective on the force that Gordon can actually trust? I don't know who I would have play him, though.

I voted for Crispus Allen, cause I have an affinity with Gotham Central characters, like Allen and Montoya. Apparently there's a character in TDK sort of like Montoya, but not in name...

The others, I dunno. I've never been much of a fan of Leslie Thompkins because she always felt like a tacked-on mother surrogate, professionally taking away from Alfred's character (surgeon, emotional crutch). Possibly I also dislike her because the actress voicing her in TAS did such a terrible, dispassionate job... If they ever do decide to use her, I'd suggest Vanessa Redgrave or Helen Mirren for the role.

As far as the Arkhams go, I never thought it made sense that a mental institution should be run hereditarily. Plus, they alread figured Jonathan Crane as administrator to the Asylum, so I don't think we'd have to go into its management again...

Harvey Bullock is a very different character than Flass (who is utterly corrupt while Bullock is goodhearted yet legally ambiguous and adverse to Batman), but he's sort of a stock character by now (fat slob policeman) who doesn't seem all that original anymore (after Bullock in TAS, Eckhardt in B89 and Flass in BB)...

Sarah Essen definitely shouldn't be introduced. I never liked her and since we haven't even met Barbara Gordon (Jim's first wife) in Nolan's continuity, it'd be a weird move to feature Essen all of a sudden. In the comics, I never felt her to be a real character, just someone put in to create conflict (her distrust of Batman creating a rift between her and Jim, their affair ending Gordon's first marriage) and ultimately, her death in the comics was the final tug at the heartstrings of an essentially perfunctory character.

Aunt Harriet... well...

Oh, and post-Rachel Dawes, I don't want to see ANY non-Catwoman or non-Talia love interests like Vicki Vale, Silver St.Cloud or Julie Madison...

Sarah Essen (i'll put my money on it now) will never be introduced in a Nolan Batman film. We've seen Gordon as a true family man that cares deeply for his wife and kids. To find out that he's screwing around with Essen would totally ruin the character of Gordon established in TDK.

I think Nolan should introduce Jason Bard, Harvey Bullock, Dr. Leslie Thompkins and Matches Malone in the third film.
