I know this will sound like over reacting but frankly I could not stand the way she does that look to the side when she tells Gordon in their first scene that her Mom is back in the hospital. It's worse than the prolonged shot of her after she helps Dent get in the car with Wuertz(sp?).

Something about it just annoyed me to no end. It was overacting for a quick scene or two that should have come off as subtle but was over the top and cheesy on a level that got under my skin.
I thought she was good. You want overacting, I give you Aaron Eckhart in his final scene:

"THERE'S NO SCAPE FROM THIS!"

He was trying too hard there. Thank god it was just a split second thing. He was great as Two-Face overall.

Monique Curnen

She's hot, so i hope she returns.

I don't think she's latina but Indian, as she's been in a few Bollywood films.

I seriously wonder if they really did make her connect to some of us as "oh she's supposed to be like Montoya" for the very reason to throw us off the fact she could be the other dirty cop.

Will Gordon still trust her after what Gordon's wife tells Jim?

Dunno, Gordon seems like a pretty forgiving guy.

If I was him, I wouldn't.
I rather have Montoya & Bullock in the next movie.

Technically Ramirez could still work for the police force, she could tell Gordon that she was forced by Harvey (which she was) to help him get Gordon's family. But the only people who actually know that she's dirty are dead, Dent and Maroni. Unless I missed something or she just later on admitted to working for Maroni.

So cynical. I liked it because it showed you didn't to be a lazy bastard to be become tempted to corruption, you only have to be human. It shows the battle Gordon and the rest of the city face when it's so pervasive. Was Batman going to help her mother? No. No one was going to except for Maroni

She is Latina, not Indian. Here's an interview featuring her..

From http://www.extranews.net/channel.php?cha=89

The Latinos of Gotham City
by Kiko Martinez It’s not an everyday occurrence to see yourself in the most anticipated blockbuster of the year, but that is just where Latino actors Nestor Carbonell (TV’s “Lost”) and Monique Curnen (“Lady in the Water”) have found themselves this summer. In “The Dark Knight,” the second film of director Christopher Nolan’s visionary Batman franchise, Christian Bale returns to form as the Caped Crusader and is pitted against the psychotic Joker (played by the late Heath Ledger.) In the film, Carbonell – who is Cuban-American – plays the Mayor of Gotham City. Curnen, who is of Puerto Rican descent, plays Gotham Police Detective Ramirez. They both spoke to EXTRA about their work on the film. EXTRA: How did you get involved with the project? Néstor Carbonell: I was given some materia....

She did portray an Indian chic on filim though. It's common for actors/actresses to play characters of different ethnic backgrounds especially if they have a certain look.

Her filmography:

I'm just glad they made her look like a cop and they didn't 'sex her up' like a lesser movie would.

I thought she was a good cop, but my dad knew the whole time that she was crooked. He didn't let me forget it...

Something I missed the first time was the rooftop scene Dent says something like "Scum like Ramirez" or something of the like.

Anyways, every time she was on screen my eyes were fixed on her. She's gorgeous.

IMDB says she's in Half Nelson. Anyone seen it, is it much of a role? It also says Lady in the Water but I think I'll be skipping that
