hey, does anyone know where i can download the veronica mars season 3 remix of "we use to be friends" the remix grew on me alot, and i can't seem to find it anywhere, or if there's even a full version of it?

Ausiello: Sounds like Papa Mars is on board! Enrico Colantoni says he's fully aware of the talks that are taking place to bring Veronica to the big screen, adding, "Cult shows have translated well into the film arena. Nothing's official, but they're talking about it."

When in Rome opens next September but if that movie does well at the box office that could be enough for a Mars film to be made. Joel Silver produced the series so he would help get it made.

funny how i netflix'd both shows.. and got totally hooked

why do these awesome shows get cancelled?... thats why i end up never watching tv shows and skipping out on great shows like these..

The Cupid reboot looks horrible, which is a shame since the original was great. But I'm thinking Cupid will be canceled and Thomas will have more time to work on the movie.

Ausiello: Yes, and it's less than ideal (but totally understandable). Basically, between Cupid 2.0 and Party Down, Rob Thomas has been a very, very, very busy man. "I haven't gotten far on my VM movie outline," he tells me. "I thought I had the idea broken, but I've hit a wall in the final act that I haven't quite figured out. And with Cupid and Party Down occupying 80 hours a week, and a new baby boy occupying the remaining hours, I haven't nailed it down. I'm hopeful that I can find the time to figure it out over the Christmas holidays." Take your time, Rob! We're not going anywhere!

Veronicamars_l Veronica Mars fans, if you pray, pray hard. And if you don't, start, because the cult fave's long-rumored movie version is about to enter the anxiety-producing phase known as do-or-die-time.

"I'm preparing the pitch now -- literally now," Mars' main man, Rob Thomas, told me this morning. "I hope to go in and talk to [executive producer] Joel Silver and [Warner Bros.] in the next week or two to see if they're interested."

But first, Thomas has to iron out the endgame of the plot, which, as I first reported last fall, focuses on Veronica solving a crime in college rather than as an FBI agent. "I haven't figured it out yet," he says of the final act. "That's what I'm working on now. It's close. A few key details left to solve."

Thomas is quick to caution, however, that completing an outline and pitching the studio are just two steps of a much larger, more daunting process. "I have some fear that Veronica Mars fans believe that the chief hurdle in getting the movie made is my writing it," Thomas confesses. "Unfortunately, that's only one of several hurdles. I'm going to give it my best shot and let the chips fall where they may.

"It's entirely possible I won't have an answer at the end of the pitch," he continues. "They will want to consider [the pitch], look at some numbers -- whatever it is people on the business side do -- and then they'll give me some sort of response. Then, if they want to move forward, there's the deal-making that'll need to go on."

Surprisingly, one of the project's primary selling points won't be tagging along to the meeting. "Kristen [Bell] will not be joining me," he says. "I'm sure she has no desire to see how the sausage is made."

Perhaps not, but I think I know what K. Bell would like to see: a comments section overflowing with messages of support and encouragement for Thomas as his Mars mission approaches stage: critical. That's your cue to get busy writing!

Exclusive: No 'Veronica Mars' Movie Anytime Soon, Says Creator

I'm leading the parade of the heartbroken this morning fellow "Veronica Mars" fans because Rob Thomas, the show's creator, just broke the news to PopWrap that his proposed movie won't be coming soon to a theater near you. Sad face emoticon!

"While the pitch [to producer Joel Silver] went well and I don't think the movie's dead, right now it's looking depressing," Rob exclusively told PopWrap this morning during a chat about "Party Down," his new series. "I think honestly if we would have had the pitch ready a year earlier, it would be a go project. The hope that we would get a quick greenlight didn't materialize. This is the least optimistic I've felt in a while."

But, if there is any silver lining to be found in this dark, dismal storm cloud, Rob felt comfortable sharing what "Veronica Mars: The Movie" would have looked like now that the project isn't headed our way any time soon. "If we were going to do a movie, I would want to put Wallace and Logan and Mac and Weevil in it," he said in regards to whether or not it would focus on Veronica's FBI years. "We would have picked up just prior to Veronica's graduation, it would have been the college years."

As for those of you (read: me) who are still holding grudges against Rob for "Veronica's" ambivalent ending, rest assured, Rob hears you. "It's one of the reasons I wanted to do the movie. There was so much debate as to how we would end season three since it could have been our last episode. But truthfully, I didn't want to make it any easier for them to cancel us. I didn't want to give them that nice happy 'ahhh' feeling."

But should the movie gods smile upon Rob and financially back his baby, the producer is raring to go. "I would love nothing better than to make this movie, I would drop whatever else I was doing!"

Bell has "When in Rome" and "Couples Retreat" out this year, she's only going to get more exposure might as well make the movie or direct-to-dvd now.

Be interesting how many other studios try to do a similar campaign with this sort of success.

There's are a ton of comic/video games/tv show properties that have a stronger fan base then this that have yet to be green lit because they are looked at as a risk.

Pretty awesome it raised that much in a day. Just the amount of coverage it will get from the campaign should help the film on it's release. Pretty much free publicity.

Not that this keeps me up at night, but celebrities and Hollywood and people of wealth using kickstarter are pretty much abusing its original purpose. Kickstarter, at its core is really meant for independent filmmakers who aren't in the position and don't have the resources (i.e. the wealth) in getting a film made. Of course Hollywood would take advantage of this because it's free money. Bell and these people are millionaires and THEY can't fund this themselves?

Fincher and Whoopi Goldberg did the same thing.... why do they need to? So they can't get funding for a film. Boo hoo. Try and go through the flaming hoops like everyvody else does. Of course kickstarter doesn't care, because they get 5% from this. And they'll continue to because it seems like Hollywood has found a way in getting free money. I mean it's genius: getting the people to pay for a film instead of them who are in a much better position to do it anyway. So we just give it to them.... Worst of all, if this movie ia a huge success, you won't see a dime. It would only just add money to the studios who are getting this free money.

This is also a SAG issue. You pay and get a speaking role? So instead of the SAG actor who's been working their ass off to get auditions are going to lose out to a rich douche who easily pays 10,000 dollars like it's nothing to talk in a movie?

This is poor character on Bell's part. How she can just look into a camera and ask us for money for them. I'm coming from the perspective of being a part of a kickstarter campaign myself. My major is adapting a Stephen King short story and compared to them... shouldn't that money be going to people like us? In three days they are already over two million. And worse, they tell you to not stop donating. It's going up as I write this. And we have **** compared to them. So who are the donors going to be more inclined to donate to? Rich established celebrities where you can get to talk in a film or for an college educational program like us? Tell me how that's fair.

I think we, the people who aren't even making this film for a profit, should be getting at least a couple thousand of this money, since that is our goal. But unfortunatly, we aren't famous celebrities who are known and can take money like this and gain tens of thousands every thirty seconds. Nope, just people trying harder in getting money, because we need it more. I hope this doesn't become a rising trend.Because this could be terrible for independent filmmakers if this continues.

Let me defend this particular situation. The entire VM team of actors and creator have been wanting to give the show a proper send off for years, and there's a big fan base that wants it too, the stumbling block has been WB. Could the actors/production team fund it themselves? Perhaps, but you could also make the argument that music acts like U2 could fund their own concerts and yet they still charge their fans to be entertained. For all we know Kristen Bell is helping to fund it, but lets not make out like she's this multimillion dollar superstar, I think it's grossly unfair to say she should have to cover the costs of the production. Ultimately fans are paying for something they want to see, it's no different from attending a sporting event featuring your favourite team or a rock concert featuring your favourite band, I don't see it as any different to paying for other kinds of entertainment, at the very least the odds are they'll enjoy it and won't feel the ripped off. Here's the thing, with fans money on the line quality is now going to be of the up most importance, the fans are now more than ever deserving of their money's worth. That's only a good thing because the film will benefit knowing a lot of good faith has been placed in the creators hands. Your issue seems to be more about fairness, yes it's unfair that you and other Kickstarters don't have celebs in your corner helping you out, but that's just the way it is and I'm sorry you and others feel like the system has been cheated. I've worked on a kickstarter campaign and it's not easy to get noticed.

I can see both arguments. This can hurt indy projects, and may get neglect as more and more 'bigger' projects jump into the Kickstarter trend. For example, a cool project like Paisley, which is a short film that pays homage to Gremlins by using puppets for its creature effects (see here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-creature-film) may not hit its target.

BUT, on the other side of the coin, this is the ultimate supply and demand. People are speaking up and are willing to pay up for content for cancelled shows like 'Mars'. It shows that corporate 'Big Data' could be an outdated concept in Hollywood and this is the ultimate pro-consumer push.

I don't know. It's a double edged sword.

Basically paying money for something shows you're willing as opposed to just talking about it or signing a petition. Aside from physical sacrifice, money is the second biggest sacrifice.
