Knightfall and No Man's Land.

Is the new Justice League of America good? There's an auction for it at a very reasonable price, and I am toying with bidding on it.

I've been told The Long Halloween is a good place to start (after Year One, obviously), but after watching Under The Red Hood, I'd like to get in to a lot of the Robin backstory, starting with Dick and going through them all.
I'm planning on catching up with pretty much everything as I go along, but I want to make sure I get the right start. Oh, and I've been reading the new 52, obviously.
So, recommendations?
thank you for this. i am trying to figure out where to start with batman, and i am having hard time with it.

Posted this in the Marvel section as well: I'm reading Powers right now. It's a series written by Bendis that is the Police dealing with all manners of Superheroes/Villains. I'm looking for a series like that. I've read Gotham Central and enjoyed that as well as Top 10.

It's time to make yourself proud and everybody else a little nervous.

Back in the 1980's I was a big Marvel fan, but I think they really lost their
way in the 90's and went towards DC.

okay best DC comics......depends what you're into really but anyway,
here goes, here's a few of my faves.

Pain of the Gods

JLA Earth 2 (Morrison/Quitely) it's awesome.

JL: Origins

There were a couple of great storylines with the "Extremists"
back in the day, during Giffen's run on the JL (JLI ) back in the

and of course Morrison's JLA, Hyperclan storyline.

All Star Superman

Superman, Brainiac

War of the Supermen

Man of Steel (John Byrne's reboot)

Secret Origin

The Dark Knight returns (best Batman story EVER)

Batman Year One.

And there are some great stories in the "Legends of the Dark Knight"
series by Denny O'Neill, particularly the introduction of "Venom" which
lead to the creation of Bane.

more recently, Court of Owls, City of Owls and Batman Earthne.

Green Lantern:

okay, I didn't really enjoy Blackest Night, but

"Rebirth" nice work by Geoff Johns

Sinestro Corps War, was cool as well.

The Flash:

Human Race

Legion of Superheroes:

"An Eye for an Eye" it's an old storyline, back where heroes dying and killing a bad guy was a huge deal .

Probably a bunch more, but I'll save them for later.

I am really into the bat family. Any suggestion on a graphic novel that features the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson? Perhaps also Tim Drake/ Cassandra Cain
