It might have something to do with it being built below sea level

I just hope the same lackluster responses from the local, state and federal government are not repeated this time around. I also hope that the Hurricane does not hit New Orleans, but that looks highly unlikely right now.

I am glad to see the people heeding the warning and I hope and pray it won't be as bad as it looks. I feel really sad they are having to face this again.

They ain't taking any chances this time, they're trying to get all this **** set up and people outta there before the weekend ends. Bush has already said he's not going to the GOP convention and is going there instead.

I also am glad that this time people are heeding the governments warnings and actually taking responsibility for their own lives instead of doing nothing to protect themselves and then expecting the government to send rescue workers into harms way to pull them to safety.

This hurricane is going to be brutal. I fear it's going to eclipse Katrina. I do hope that the government at ALL levels be it city, county, state or Federal are responsive and take quick action and that as many people as possible make it out of their with their lives.

Those morons on the "stormfront" white nationalist board are actually giddy over the fact that this thing is going to smash New Orleans again.

Hopefully this time around they've had time to prepare and the government will intervene early and often to ensure that we don't lose a city again.

Better go fill up your tanks before it hits because this is an excuse to bring gas back up.

Uh, since my boss made up the policy. You gonna pay? You're holding up my line of one other person. You can't afford your milk, step aside. What, daddy didn't give you enough milk money? Little baby gonna cry about it? Just step aside.

And that is how Uncle Ben dies.

If you are unwilling to help save your own life, then dont complain when the rules you were told about in advance go into affect and you have to wait until its safe for rescue workers to arrive.

The morning dew is a reason to raise gas prices...this will skyrocket things once again.
