It's still boggling how many people claim that Marvel just "doesn't fit" with Kingdom Hearts. It's the same close-minded attitude that surrounded the first game before it even came out.

1. Doesn't fit? If anything, they fit in the game more than something like Pirates or Tron, live action characters that are jarring next to the toons. You can honestly see Jack Sparrow fighting alongside Donald and Goofy, but not Spider-Man? Ridiculous.

2. Too much going on? Have you seen the worlds in these games? They have virtually no connection to the overall story, outside of a final boss. With the exclusion of the opening and closing worlds, each one is just a self-contained little adventure. There's no reason to think a Marvel world wouldn't be the same.

I don't believe a Marvel world is vital or anything to the game, but it is incredibly foolish to just say, "Doesn't fit. Move on."

It's too late for that, though. Already Final Fantasy characters have had prominent roles in the universe.

Though, granted, not as prominent as the Disney characters.

Kingdom Hearts has never just been about Disney. It was about combining them with Final Fantasy and Anime, a subject about as far removed from the works of Disney as it gets. What the heck is so wrong about using a property like Marvel, which has plenty of potential to create an exciting world? Eventually, you have to look for new ideas or you just wind up running through Agrabah for the fourteenth time.

First, you run through Agrabah and such for the X time because the princesses there are directly tied to the heartless, and you need to protect them. Thirdly, while the worlds like Pirates of the Carribean, or Wonderland, Olympus or Atlantis, they're all based around a small movie storyline. If they added Marvel, who would be the assist character? A Marvel world would simply be shoehorned in there as a cash cow - that's all there is too it.

Not to mention that, again, the reason you visit MOST of the worlds (minus first and last) are because they have the princesses tied to the Darkness/Heartless. What possible reason would there be to go to the Marvel world?

That's true...for the first game. What about the second? The story didn't have that same connection. And even if you had to have a princess it could be Mary Jane or something. She's not a 'princess', but neither was Alice

i didn't mention the ff characters b/c they're a given. the disney characters (and original ones, like sora) are the heart of the game.

It's not like anyone is saying to take out Disney or minimize it. Just have one or two Marvel worlds or summons or something around those lines. Disney would still be the 'heart' of that. Plus, I'm not sure 'heart' of the games is appropriate after KHII which took a lean much more towards the Square side of things. I think the 'heart' of the game is the mixture of these elements. Which, I will point out, people were against originally, as well.

Not every world dealt with a princess. Many just dealt with saving said world from a heartless invasion or dealing with whatever situation is in that world. See Monstro, Olympus, Atlantica, Port Royale, Pride Lands, etc.

In fact, the only worlds you went to that involved the actual seven princesses were Hollow Bastion, Wonderland, and Agrabah. They played a far smaller role in the second game as well.

What exactly do you think Sora, Riku, Kairi, and every last member of Organization XIII are? They are the broadest of Anime stereotypes.

This has come up before, but why do you think they need to put everything in the Marvel Universe in one world? They have these things called writers that pare down what they're working with into a world for Sora to go through. Under no circumstances do you need every last character to appear. To argue that they have too much to use is, quite simply, idiotic.

As for why Marvel would need Sora, you're really reaching there. This isn't a Marvel canon thing, you're not dealing with decades of continuity, they write a story for the world and that's it. Spidey's solution works fine as do about a million other ideas for that world.

As was a Pirates world. It's not a reason to discount it.

Again, many of the worlds don't deal with one of the seven princesses at all. Who knows if they'll even continue to use that thread? It certainly didn't play as big a part in the second game.

I see that you're saying that you don't like Marvel and don't want it in your game. That's the extent of your argument.

I would love to see the Negative Zone maybe used as a birtjplace for new stronger Heartless, that would be a very nice way to bring the Marvel Verse in. Have him team up with one character from a New York based world and give him one Marvel Summon, not only would it give us a new world it would broaden the story beyond like the 7 main worlds you usually go to.

I would love to see a Marvel world done like Hollow Bastion in KH2. Allow Spidey to be the special character but have all the big Marvies run around as NPC and give us a keyblade and HULK as a summon. The keyblade would have a big M as the key part of the weapon. Like you find it in Hollow Bastion, a comic book.

Yes, Hulk as a summon is a must! The big question though, is who would be your optional Marvel party member? Wolverine, Spider-Man, or Captain America seem like the most natural fits to me.
