I wonder if Gilroy will calm the camera down.

I'm fine with this. Like Seen said, he's the next best guy in obvious ways. I still don't need a fourth film, but if he's directing it and the script is good and Damon comes back, then we'll see.

Nice. I like Gilroy a lot.
They just need to get Damon back.

Is he the guy who wrote the trilogy? If so, surprised they are going with someone so inexperience.

He directed Michael Clayton and Duplicity. This is much more of a sure deal than David Goyer being bumped up to direct Blade Trinity.

It'll be interesting to see how well Gilroy directs action. I know a lot of people had problems with Greengrass' shaky-cam style, but I loved it. I never really had trouble seeing what was going on, and Supremacy had my favorite car chase sequence of at least the last 20 years, while that rooftop chase/fight in Ultimatum is one of my favorites of that kind ever. I just adore the action in these movies. Hopefully Gilroy can live up to that, because he's already proven to be good director of intrigue, and he's obviously well-versed in the Bourne universe. That said, if Matt Damon's not involved, I won't even care to find out. Hopefully he'll come on board. But yeah, I agree with the "next best guy" assessment and am now hoping for the best.

They could do worse than Gilroy. I hope he at least tries to court and mend fences with Damon and also maybe re-write the script since he wrote or co-wrote all the movies.
Damon I think would be stupid not to do this movie. This is his franchise and it has a reputation for its quality and performances. Damon is a big part of that. This is a safe picture for him so he can continue to do his passion projects and heady dramas and continue living his comfortable lifestyle.

Sounds more like a spin off, kind of like how U.S. Marshalls was to The Fugitive. I'm guessing it won't even have the name Bourne in the title, if so that would be kind of lame considering the character most likely won't be in the film. I'm wondering if some of the same actors that were part of the Bureau will return.

Huh???
I'm kind of relieved Jason isn't in it though. I mean really, the perfect ending to the third film would have been ruined. So this could be good. We'll just need to know more. Gilroy doing this, we all know this isn't gonna be ****. So let's give it a chance and see.

Why even do this movie if it's not Bourne? Who the heck asked for a spinoff or some outside story that's Bourne Like? I don't understand this at all. Is Universal that desperate that they'd continue a franchise, without actually continuing the franchise. This all just sounds so unnecessary.

The title makes sense, though. I'm intrigued.

How are they gonna sell a Bourne movie without Jason Bourne. Also the story makes it seem like there will be another Bourne movie after this . It's like they are just doing this in the meantime until Damon is available.

So it sounds like they want to do a Bourne movie that steps back from following Bourne and shows the ramifications of his actions on the world at large and how things have changed, with the possibility of Matt Damon returning again later on. Man, that's a pretty risky maneuver. If this one under performs I don't think we'll be seeing another one.

LOL, I'm just not buying into this idea. Matt Damon was the star of this franchise and helped make it what it is. Good luck trying to sell a movie without him.
US Marshalls also SUCKED by the way. If its not a Bourne movie, than don't call it Jason Bourne.
