has anyone ever gone? I'm going to toronto/medieval times for the first time on the second of november and I can't wait. I ordered the royalty package which has vip seating, a commemorative program, a behind the scenes dvd, and a spirit banner. do I get to keep the banner? I have no clue. so please, tell me if you've been, I'm super excited.

The banner is a little flag thingy that they try to sell to everyone who walks in. Its just a little colored thing that they wave in support of their knight. You keep it.
It is...what it is. Its cheesy, but you know that. A lot of it depends on the actors involved...as some just dont have the proper voice for the roles they play (I dont mean to sound like a bigot...but when an obviously homosexual king is yelling "Hold your sword! Stay thy blade!" I just lose focus on the fiction they are presenting.) Its goofy...and if youre in the right mindset then maybe you'll have fun. I think its kind of lame, yet have managed to get suckered into going several times. |

the food is delicious but you don't get silverware or enough napkins because of authenticity. except you know. they walk around with plastic pitchers of coke.

I've been twice down in LA.
My friends and I some years ago would make it a yearly thing to go down to LA for the Fangoria horror film conventions, we eventually got bored with it after the 4th year though. The first two years we went to Medieval Times after the convention. It's fun as long as your with a decent group. The first time we went it was awesome because the servers kept leaving pitchers of beer on one of the back tables(our seats were near the outer walkway). I kept going on "missions" when no one was looking to snag the free beer, we got good and drunk and had a great time yelling at the opposing Knights. One of these years we want to go back down to LA because right near Medieval Times they opened a Pirate version a couple years ago. That's one we still want to try out. |

Whenever someone mentions "Medieval Times" (and this is the first time someone has in recent memory), I am inclined to recall that one scene from Garden State, where whatshisface is dressed as a knight and speaks Klingon to please Peter Sarsgaard's mom...

Whenever someone mentions "Medieval Times", I always think of "Cable Guy" and Andy Dick overdramatically bellowing "THIS......is Medieval TIMESSSSSSSSSS!!!!"

Whenever I think of Andy Dick, I am inclined to stick safety pins into my eyes to distract myself from such horrendous thoughts.

^ Hee heee. yes, that was a bad, bad movie.
I went when I was in high school, so I didn't know they ever served beer. I bet it would be great buzzed while watching people duel. The food's okay, I guess, but it is pretty expensive. best to go with a group and get a discount.

I went about a year ago (Myrtle Beach). It was kind of fun I guess, no big deal. The VIP thing is actually kind of a ripoff, but we did it also (mainly for the seats).
One of the knights actually gave my wife a flower...so I had to maim him and they ended the show early.

The last time I went to "Medevil Times" I was 7 ... and even at that age it was a bit on the goofy side.
You have to be in the mood to buy into it if you go. But mood or not, those little game hens were always awesome! And I do remember them putting up some awesome decorations for Halloween and having a new addition to the Halloween show called the "Undead Knight" or "Ghost Knight" ... something along the lines...
