He's decent. Let's face it, he could have been alot worst ie Starscream. I think if he has the traditional Soundwave voice he'll be badass................

yeah, Starscream still has the worse design. Moreso than Blackout, who had the best design out of the Decepticons in the first film.

That's called settling for whatever they give you. I know we as fans really have no say in this process... but that doesn't mean I have to like it. So thanks but no thanks to settling for whatever they give me.

He's decent for a 'Bay-former' but by no means do i consider him a great design. G1 Soundwave will always be the definitive Soundwave to me.

I'd be more inclined to say everything Classics/Universe/Henkei, Titanium, or even Alternators/Masterpiece/Binaltech is definitive. G1 had far too many disparities in design for my liking, and that's just the toy line (without even getting into the cartoon/comic models).

I don't mind animated so much, sure the animation style isn't the best, but the homage to G1 and some of the plot lines are pretty decent.

I must admit I wish he looked a bit more like the G1 Soundwave, at least the same colour as him, BUT, it seems to be a design that fits with the movie universe, so I actually like it.

I'm starting to believe more and more, now, that he's a triple changer. That looks like a pretty obvious 'vehicle grill' on his chest.....

This image seems to point towards the notion that Soundwave may be an alien satellite in his protoform, and a truck in his earth form.

Personally, I wish that if they were going to turn Soundwave into a truck, they used a military vehicle like in the fan concepts. Still, he looks pretty bad ass, and I can pretty easily tell who he's supposed to be. I'm crossing my fingers that they bring back Frank Welker to do his voice! Soundwave's voice is iconic, so I really hope they don't mess with it.

I know this may be going against Bay's Transformers but I really hope they have Soundwave completely emotionless like in the toon. Obviously two things contributed to that: his brilliant voice by the Legend and of course the fact that he didn't have a mouth. I will be pretty content with whatever vehicle they have him turn into (the more it has to do with communications the better) as long as he is his old emotionless yet determined self.

The problem I have is that, apart from Optimus and Jazz, they didn't even try to incorporate the G1 designs into the new versions. I know they have to tech them up in this day and age but they made every other Transformer look like some generic pile of metal and none of them evoked their G1 counterparts.
