I guess it can be chalked up to youthful stupidity, but it sounds like the guy never paid attention in history class. Maybe someone should inform his his ancestors were, worked sun up to sun down for no pay. They were beaten, raped, killed, and treated like animals. Husbands and wives were separated, children were taken from their mothers.
Every rapper that wants to flaunt diamond crusted teeth and jewelry should be flown to south Africa to view just where those diamonds come from. The truth is no matter how poor someone grew up in the states, and how rough their neighborhood was, their life was a cake walk compared to how life for many people in Africa is.

This kid was a joke before he made that comment and the fact that anyone is even asking for his insight on anything is comedy to me.

So in order to stretch out his 15 minutes of fame one more minute longer he's playing the controversy card? Class.

Martin Luther King is rolling in his grave right now, lol!
You know you suck when.... 1. Your music is absolutely terrible and makes "singers" like Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Paris Hilton seem like gold. 2. You're too stupid to even realize what was wrong with your comment. I actually hate 98% of rappers out right now. They are NOT artist but rather noisemakers. ![]() If you hear a rap song these days it sound like "OOOOHHH!! What dey due!!! AYYYYEE!!! CRank dat!! Dats how do it! OOOOHHH!!! AYYYYEEEEE!! Dats how we roll, ohhhhhh, hoooooeeee!! AYYYYEEEE!! Crank dat bishh!! OHHH!!" X 100 Saying music like that is annoying is an understatement

If this was a rapper whose lyrics had shown an iota of intelligence or even just black pride, I'd think he was joking. However, this is a numnuts whose current hits consist of "Crank Dat Souljah Boy" and (not a remix, but an entirely different song...) "Souljah Girl," so I'm inclined to believe he's a complete idiot.

In all fairness, this moron was in elementary school when Tupac was killed.

I've seen this sentiment expressed by other black youth, they see how Africa is now and instead of being enraged they sort of seem to think it as the results of Africa's own failings, and are thankful they are here. |

I agree he needs to experience slavery first hand.
After eating maggot infested scraps and being whipped for working too slow well into the night he might actually feel sorry for what he said. He has obviously conditioned himself to tout his ignorance because he equates doing so with increased album sales. He's sold every aspect of his soul to become a white supremacist poster boy and laughing stock. But at least he has fame and money. As to the comments after the article that actually suggest Soulja said nothing wrong and blacks really should be grateful for slavery. I doubt they would endure an entire year of slavery for American citizenship let alone the entire lifetime of themselves and everyone they knew and loved. This is just a prime example of the backwards, diseased state of hip hop music. |

I think I realized what part of the problem is. The Family Channel doesn't played the entire Roots epic every February like they used to. Ever since Family was bought by ABC (which is owned by Disney, the network where it ain't black unless it's a corny teenager or has mouse ears), they've completely stopped airing it.
I remember every year, you'd be able to catch Roots, Roots: The Next Generations, and Queen for an entire month. When I was in elementary school, the only black teacher I had back then (2nd grade) gave all of the black kids in the class the toughest Black History projects. I was one of the few 7 year olds on Earth with an intimate knowledge of who Frederick Douglass was. And I need to cut this thread short, because I feel my militant side surfacing...

Well, not to be controversial, and all that jazz, but isn't he technically correct in his assessment? He's an idiot, slavery was terrible, but we have those damn slave masters to blame for him being here.
