I just started a thread for GT, and I didn't see this one. Hopefully that one will get locked/deleted.

Anyways, I'm pumped for this game. I recently bought a PS3 just to play GT. I've been playing Forza3 to occupy my racing needs for the time being, but GT5 looks crazy. All the weather and night effects look great, along with all the tracks and cars. Ha, they even have karts! I'll have to try that out a few times.

What set-up do you guys race with? I have the Fanatec wheel, so I can use it for my 360 and PS3. I've used Logitecs before, but never owned one.

I think I'm going to buy a logitec one. But I heard they are coming out with a new one possibly this November. I have not used a wheel in a long time, but I feel with this one I will throw down 100 or so bucks for a real good one.

I got my collectors edition all paid up and ready to go.

Check out this video.

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Remember the “GT5 Car Index” we learned about a few days ago? At the time, only two small photographs of the PlayView tech demo were available, but now -- thanks to good detective work by our own Marry_Me_GT -- we get a much closer look that reveals more cars in the game than ever before! Check out the HD videos below and see what you can find…

I am such a big GT fan that the Collectors Edition was a no brainer and I never buy CE's.

Edit:

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.
We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.
We’ll have more information for you in the near future.

I'm not really surprised.

For the love of ****in god!!!!! Are you kidding me!?!? Another ****in delay, and within a few weeks before release! I'm sick and tired of Polyphony pulling this **** with every damn GT game. I like the series, but I'm sick and tired of feeling like a jackass chasing a carrot that's tied to my head.

Meh. We have waited this long, an extra 3 days or month won't kill us. I wonder what the reason is? There are rumors that all new games getting released will require FW 3.50 and will actually have the update on the disc to combat the PS Jailbreak. Or are they using the extra time to fix the Piaza Del Campo track to appease The Consortium for the Protection of the Palio? Like I said though, waiting an extra 3 days or month doesn't bother me no matter the reason.

Yeah, it was just a few weeks to release for this delay. Who's to say they wont delay it again? Now they don't even have a release date announced, now it's just "hopefully before the holidays".

GameReactor associate in Tokyo, Gregor Wildermann, has reportedly made contact with Polyphony Digital and Kazunori Yamauchi for further clarification on Gran Turismo 5’s production status:
[Kazunori Yamauchi's] reply was that the game was only three days late from their side, and that Sony has to decide what that means for the release.
This aligns with the other information I’ve received about review copies and release windows, and further suggests that GT5’s ultimate new release date will be determined by Blu-Ray production schedules – not software development.
http://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-missed-p...nes-new-dates/

So basically, the game is done, it was just late getting to the production line. Hopefully we will hear something soon.

I've waited for so long for this game that at this point i almost no longer care... its like chasing a dream, at first its exciting but after awhile its more like draining.

When it does come out hopefully it will be more than anything ever and immediately leave me in a coma, because for how long i have been waiting thats what it better do, to at least justify this game taking 900 years to make.

I am only saying that because the pre orders are pretty low.

Actually, there were reports last month that it was ahead of all preordered games in some UK retailers. Gamestop stopped taking reservations for the Collectors edition as well. Sony and PD have not given numbers so, we will have to wait and see. Got to remember also, several people bought their PS3's just for this game. I think it will sell great, especially in EU and Japan.

That's the only reason why I bought one 2-3 months ago. The only game I bought, was Little Big Planet, and while it's an alright game, I rarely play it. I only use it now, for Blu-Rays, and waiting on GT.

Gran Turismo 6 is in development...lol

The overly long wait for Gran Turismo 5 hasn't stopped developer Polyphony Digital from working on the next title.

Speaking to Autoweek, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed development of a six title in the racing franchise is underway. When asked about a release window for the game, Kazunori was reluctant to give any further details.

"It's not something that we can talk that lightly on," he said. "It took 2,000 days to get all the ideas that went into GT5. It's just too early to be talking about GT6."
As for the latest on Gran Turismo 5, Kazunori recently told autoblog Jalopnik that game discs are currently being pressed, suggesting a release of the game is coming before the end of this year. Sony wouldn't confirmed details to us when asked, however. but said we'll get launch details soon.

On Sony's official online store, a release date of November 30 for GT5 was posted, but Sony says the date is simply a placeholder.
