"Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" had mixed reactions and, altough a third movie with Black Panther was considered, until second order "Fantastic Four 3" is not going to happen. Fans especulate that Marvel Studios will make a reboot once the directs come back to it.

Please God...no more F4 movies. Unless they're rebooted by someone with respect for the comic.
And bring me Rothman and Tim Story's head on a plate, while your at it. |

If they do another one, will Dr. Doom still get to use a Super Scope, or will he have to downgrade to an NES Zapper due to budget cuts from Tom Rothman?

The films sucked. It's a shame too, because Chris Evans was fantastic as Johnny Storm, and Michael Chiklis did great despite Thing's horrible mischaracterization. Well, hopefully if Marvel reboots the franchise once they get the rights back, the Fantastic Four can actually get some respect. Make the films with a credible director, loose any campy stuff that doesn't involve Johnny Storm and Thing, give the films a science fiction type vibe, make Reed Richards one of the world's smartest men who is not incompetent, and make Doctor Doom truly be one of the greatest villains of fiction.
/end rant

I like Chiklis as an actor, mostly in the shield, but I have yet to see a convincing portrayal of the Thing on the big screen. I don't know if it's an FX problem but to me he didn't look imposing or powerful enough, and faithful to the comics (neither physically, nor in spirit)

couldn't this have been posted in fantistic four's designated area?
and to the original poster...unfortunately FF2 wasn't good enough to even warrant a third film and plans about a spin-off were also squashed...Fox still owns the rights but we'll see what happens I guess. If they want any money out of it now they should focus on merchandising or just sell it back to Marvel.

'When asked about the future of the Fantastic Four franchise, Evans said he thinks the prospect for a sequel is “dead in the water.” I find this surprising considering the fact that the Fantastic Four films weren’t well received critically, but the films drove some major box office numbers. Maybe it is because the story arc for Fantastic Four is done or maybe it is because Marvel is more interested in their spinoff, Silver Surfer.''

michael chicklis stated in october that chris evans should "never say never" and that a third film is not out of the realm of possibility but that the actors are frustrated because they haven't heard anything regarding a sequel . he was also suprised because he understood that the films did good in the box office.

Get a different writer and a different director and give this franchise one last chance.

Fox should just stay away from superheroes. If they're not pouring them into "edgy" leather costumes than they're making them boring pretty boys.

Yea i heard its likely not going to be happening with fox, and marvel is waiting for the rights to revert back to them in a few yrs and then likely we will see another film/reboot.

fox is stupid and handled these two movies poorly. They got the worst writers and directors and a really bad cast besides chris evans. Im hoping for a silver surfer project then a reboot

The greatest insult was making the sequel even worse. They had time to fix the mistakes they made in the first one, but no they didn't fix the mistakes for the sequel.
