I just recently moved to the south this past year, specifically Tennesee. On my drive home from work, I normally listen to my mp3 player, but sometimes I don't really want to listen to music, and I turn on talk radio.

Well out here, we're stuck with Michael Savage.

Not only have I heard him make ridiculous, offensive, insulting accusations towards us Liberals, misinforming his ignorant masses to a dangerous level with sensationalism and right wing propaganda, but I've heard him make way too many bigoted remarks towards those who feel different than him, most notably as of late (with California's unfortunate passing of Prop 8) the homosexual community, making baseless accusations that homosexuals are out to destroy America and the American family value system by wanting to marry and adopt.

I'm ashamed that he hails from my home state of California, from my home region of the San Francisco Bay Area.

But more than that, while I am all for freedom of expression and would never support censorship of any kind, I worry for the people that he brainwashes with his propaganda. Unlike shock entertainment like Howard Stern, South Park, Grand Theft Auto, rap music, or what have you, Savage's expression of political beliefs can cause ACTUAL harm when people actually buy into and believe his non sense, hatred, and bigotry.

And that's my rant for the evening.

My grandma listens to him.

But i sorta agree with him that homosexuals adopting kids is bang out of order. What are the two blokes going to say when the kid grows up? That it's normal? Well it isn't normal. And what about when the kid goes to school? He will be bullied to high heaven. It's selfish on the adoptees part imo. They are like "ohh lets adopt a kid, it will be so fun to have a child to raise!" Well what about the childs feelings?

There have been studies on homosexual couples raising children. Thus far, they've found no aversive effects. Take your bigotry somewhere else.

I'm not being a bigot, i'm just stating how i'd feel about it. It's a 100% fact that the kid will be tormented every single day. Is that right? No of course not. But is it true? Yes of course it is. I just don't think it's fair that a child should be put through that.

I don't need proof, common sense says that would happen. Kids are cruel when they are young and if they found out that a fellow class mate has two gay dads as parents then they will no doubt rip the piss out of him.

Okay let's scrap the whole bullying thing for a sec. I personally think it is out of order to raise a child in that enviroment, for the child to be told that being homosexual marriage and family is as normal as a standard family. It isn't. I don't have a problem with homosexual people, as long as they don't try it on with me. I have a couple of gay friends, they are as safe as houses. But if they one day decided to get married and adopt a child I would be totally against it, for the childs sake.
