I dont think it's anybody but Norman, everything fits.
IronPartriot (Norman) Sentry Ares Marvel Boy Ms. Marvel (MoonStone) Spider-Man (Venom) Hawkeye (Bullseye) Wolverine (Daken) Penance is in the looney bin Radioactive Man got sent back to China Songbird might be dead (Doubt it) Swordsman might also be dead (Doubt it) I'm guessing somewhere down the road Songbird is gonna gather together a more classic heroic version of the Thunderbolts to go against the NEW Thunderbolts and the Dark Avengers. I'm guessing... Songbird Atlas Mach IV Swordsman Blizzard Whoelse Any thoughts or opinions on this idea? Last edited by MightyAvenge; 12-10-2008 at 04:48 PM. |

no I'm picking up what is being thrown down. Norman is the most logical choice but is he the only choice? could there not be a wild card somewhere. a depowered mutant anyone. my scope and knowledge of the universe is lacking... I'm about 8 weeks behind on my books. If I may repeat myself is there no one else.

I'd say throw in Speed Demon, Dr. Spectrum, and Hyperion.

Swordsman gets killed in Dark Reign 1shot. Well, stabbed through the stomach with his own sword and literally thrown out of the top level of Thunderbolts Mountain. So I'm pretty sure he's dead |

Yea Sentry is probably Void. Ares is pretty much Dark Hercules/Thor.
IronPatriot - IronMan Void - Sentry Ares - Hercules Marvel Boy - ????? Maybe he is his own dark side. Moonstone - Ms. Marvel Venom - Spider-Man Bullseye - Hawkeye Daken - Wolverine |

Marvel Boy could be any young hero that the Avengers have taken under their wing and shown the true nature of heroism to. Probably works best as the "dark" version of Justice. Or you could be more obvious and call him the dark Captain Marvel.

Your probably right about Swordsman being dead, but they could bring him back. It just seems like a total waste of time to just kill him off all of a sudden. I dont think Songbird is dead though, we havent seen what heppened between her and Bullseye yet.

Is the gerenal consensus that the Sentry is actually the Void?
If so, where is the Sentry? Will he come back in a time of need? |

Personally, I think the Sentry and the Void are just different personalities in Bob's head at this point. The Sentry will return whenever Bob mans the hell up and tries to fight against his darker urges.

Well thats kinda what I mean. Bob is probably the Void post-SI and I'm wondering if he will switch or man-up when the NA are needed the most, switched to the Sentry and saves the day.

I hope not. He's far more interesting as the Void. The Sentry could cease to exist for good, as far as I'm concerned, and I'd never miss him.

I dunno. I dont think it really fits Norman's style to dress up in a rip-off Iron Man costume and go out "super-heroing". For one, I find it hard to picture Norman in any costume that isnt Green and Gobliney and two it's more like him to manipulate someone else into doing the hands on work so that he's always got an alibi.
I think it's probably some obscure character, possibly with a military or tech background. For some reason I wanna guess Nuke but I cant figure out my own rationale behind the guess.

Nuke fits, actually. Super-soldier gone bad = perfect patsy for Norman to manipulate into wearing the suit. Just tell him he'd be Captain America's true successor.

That must be what I was thinking. Either way I'm saying that it's NOT Norman.

I suppose, but I don't think we can count on Norman's past portrayal for any clues in Dark Reign. I mean, Norman, as presented before Thunderbolts, would never have managed to secure a job like the one he has now. He was strictly small-time. Maybe his jump in status includes a greater appreciation for hands-on leadership.

He did go all commando during SI, and wasnt being The Green Goblin usually a hands-on physical role? Leading the team in the field also give him a better chance to keep control of his people so they dont go off the script and ruin his plans.

Again I agree, what I want is for the Void to become the dominant personality, and have the Sentry basically be like the Void and only show up when the Void has used to much of his power. So if the void lets loose he'll risk bringing back the Sentry. That way all the Sentry haters can get what they want, buty all us people that care for the sentry can also get what we want, which is to have the Sentry/Void be a consistant part of the MU. Even us Sentry lovers get really annoyed at how inconsistent the Sentry is, if The Void become the Dominant personality, we can actually see the Sentry/Void actually do something. |

It is hard to picture Norman in anything but a Goblin costume, but if Norman is trying to gain the trust of the people why would he go gliding around in his maniacal villianous Goblin costume. Why would he want somebody else doing the hands-on work? Norman wants to be what Tony was, but be better. Norman is a villian at heart and what he's doing is manipulating the majority of the US, so he is doing exactly what he always does, just on a grander scale. What better way to manipulate the people of the MU, than to dress up in a patriotic suit of armor and lead "The Avengers" Norman is manipulating bigger than he ever has before. Quote:
