J.J. Abrams got the same thing when the M:I-3 trailer came out. I've come to expect it now whenever TV directors make the jump to the big screen. So I'd prepare yourselves for more of those comments when the Thor 2 trailer comes out.

Why is this thread revived? I hope it isn't because Whedon decides not to return to direct the sequel.

Some parroted claims that the film wasn't "cinematic enough," without ever being able to explain precisely what that accusation meant. Whedon was criticized for using the wrong aspect ratio by people who had no understanding of why a director would use the 1:78 format for a post-converted 3D film. Right up to the film's premiere The Avengers was sagely compared to a TV movie by people who had only seen a few minutes of the finished product. Funny how all that noise died the day the film hit the theaters.
