David Fincher directing a Disney remake of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea?

All kinds of odd, but we'll see.

Re: Sam Worthington...he would be FAR better-suited to Ned Land than Nemo, but with McG out Worthington may not be a candidate anymore anyway.

What about Ghassan Massoud or Alexander Siddig from Kingdom of Heaven?

Am I wrong to not really care about the cast but more about the Nautilus design ?

Fincher is believe is signed for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". Everything I believe he was only attached to.

damn!

with Del Toro working on Haunted Mansion and Fincher doing 20,000 Leagues, it seems that Disney is seriously not f-ing around. they brought in some serious creative talent to work on these films. hope they are good

Looks like it's Fincher's next movie after TGWTDT.

It would be cool to see a steampunk take on the adaptation with Fincher directing it.

This could be off the hook. I'm so stoked to see what Fincher will come up with visually. Das Boot meets Cronenworth maybe?

Very cool, and BTW awesome avvy, I love that "comic". Once you've seen it, you understand why Robin wears that stuff lol.

Why is David Fincher going remake crazy? First The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and now this?

With that said, unlike Dragon Tattoo, I do feel a new adaptation of Verne's best novel is welcome. I love James Mason as Nemo and the original Disney film holds up as campy family fun. But a new, gritty vision of the book? Should be great.

Idris Elba for Captain Nemo.

As for Ned Land, with Fincher directing, that leaves an action guy out of the question, so I'll go ahead and say Aaron Eckhart.

Just because the LA Times posted that in an article does not confirm that he is doing that next. I'm surprised /Film posted that.

Geez, every new Fincher project sound less interesting than the one before, whilst all the interesting sounding one don't seem to get made. But well I and the rest of the world was wrong about The Social Network....It's Fincher after all, right?
