Just transformed Sideways today for the first time. I really dislike that figure. Worst legs ever! He's this movie's "Swindle" for me :

I attempted to transform sideways but ended up trying to transform Bee to robot mode. I didn't get very far so I transformed him back to car mode.

Man...I can't wait until I get Stealth Bumblebee, Ravage and Camshaft. Whoo hoo. Baby. Oh and I still need to get Megatron. The decepticons are leaderless but Starscream will do for now until I get Megatron.

Hehe... Dont let your Starscream rule the decepticons for too long or he will get used to it and when your Megatron arrives, you will have trouble in your room!

The ROTF figures seem friendlier to transform to me, in the sense tat the parts click together nicely, the small parts dont fall off... but the whole process is too complicated for me to rmb... i transformed my Mixmaster once to robot mode and i dont think i can get him back to disguise mode

Legends (you might also see it titled Legends of Cybertron), small carded figures. $6.99-$7.99 price point, small simple chibby-ish figures all around 6 cm tall.

Scout (formerly basic), medium carded figures $9.99-$12.99 price point. Equivalent in size to 3.75 inch/1:18th scale action figures. Tied for second behind deluxe as most numerous class in a line.

Deluxe, larger carded figures. $15.99-$18.99 price point. Equivalent in size to ML or DCUC figures. In any TF line this is the most numerous class. Due to it selling the best. One of the two where complexity and detail are higher. Due to lack of electronics and size.

Voyager (formerly Mega), smaller boxed figures. $28.99-$30.99 price point. The other class where complexity and detail are higher. For the same reasons as deluxe. The other tie winnner for second most numerous figures in a line.

Ultra (not used much anymore), medium/large boxed figure. $39.99 price point. This is the class where electronic lights and sounds are always included, in a bang for buck deal. At this scale due to things like gravity and the electronics complexity goes down on average, with the robustness going up. It's also fallen out of favor for not being as much of an increase over voyager as leaders are.

Leader (formerly super), larger boxed figure. $59.99 price point. Again due to gravity and electronics the complexity can go down in these figures. Also due to the expense of producing them it's the class with the fewest figures. And it's reserved for the most prominent characters in the tie in fiction. Or ones that need to be larger relative to the others.

Supreme/Ultimate, largest boxed figure. $69.99-$99.99 price point. Usually 1 in a line. Also has electronics. Tends to be very robust and not all that complex.

Line specific classes:
Activators, unique to Transformers animated. Scout in most regards. Has a spring loaded transformation gimmick. Fairly simple for younger kids

Fast action battlers, unique to the movie line. Deluxe in terms of size. Quite simple and mean't for younger kids.

Also the movie devastator combiner is a one off class.

Now no size class is a guarentee of any sort of design level. In fact the Takara engineers who build the figures from Hasbro's concept sketches work on any and all size of figure. In fact one guy has done every single Starscream figure since Armada.
Thanks a lot!!!

haha.

I feel like a little kid again. Well, I do love cars. Vroom vroom. Before I got Starscream, I had Soundwave fill in for Megatron. I think I'll leave him in charge for now. heh.

Those toys are insane. I was watching a review of Rampage on youtube and i almost punched my screen. I would have torn it apart if i had it in front of me. And dont get me started on the alternators.
On the other hand, the bayverse transformations are epic and i wouldnt be satisfied if the toys couldnt match them. Most of them even have great poseability which is... amazing!

Btw, from the youtube reviews, i think that Megs is pretty ****ty. The awesome presense he has in the movie doesnt materialize well in the toy. Its just a grey robot with a tiny (why is it so small in the toy?) hand.

Does being a punk ***** who stabbed Prime in the back and getting half his face blown off at the end qualify as an awesome presence?

Are there gonna be anymore autobots/decepticons coming out in the future? I wanna get Jolt deluxe class but I can't find him.

Picked up Voyager Class Ironhide the other day. My only problem is his color scheme. Well, have also been obsessed with Jin Saotome's custom figures, so I've decided to customize Ironhide. Here's what I've done so far.

Your thoughts, fellow Hypesters?

Ps, these were taken with my cell phone, so I will try to get better quality shots up soon. My goal is for him to be a dark red truck, and have a fair amount of metallic detail.

Hmm I was thinking of getting Mixmaster. He's part of the voyager class right?

Hmm. I forget which ones are voyager classes.

I only have Rachet, Optimus, Ironhide, Demolisher and Starscream.

one of the easiest ways to customize is with black overwash...get some acrylic black paint, mix it with some water, then paint it over the grey parts on the toys...the mixture,if correct, will run like water into all the little cracks and grooves, then just take a towel and wipe the paint off all the outer surface edges of the sculpt...then you're left with a lot of detailing in the gears and wires and such....

the good thing about these guys is,you can't really screw up too much in painting them, because even if you do,you can just think of it as battle damage or something! in the movies they have so much chipped paint and dirt and dust on them...
