Eli speaks the truth (except about avengers being fun).
"Sorry teammate wonderman, I cannot hear you over returning fire" ^Best comic line I've read in years.^ Check out the avengers if that's your thing but when you decide to drop them pick up Iron Fist definately. One of the best comics currently out there. Other great titles currently available (I'll stick to Marvel since we're on the board): Avengers the Iniative (simply bask in it's random awesomeness) Incredible Herc (see above) Daredevil (Matt's almost always a good read) X Factor (hit or miss, but it can be very good when it's on) Spider-Girl (just a fun, classic read) Thor (great story and just getting started) Just do us a favor and avoid Spider-Man for a while, please.

Hey, I don't even read either of them, but they're high on the sales charts so obviously SOMEBODY likes them. Critics may have their completely valid points, but that doesn't stop them from being the minority on this one. Just saying.

Batman is really good right now, and you would only have to buy issues 672 and 673 to start into the current storyline. I would also recommend Daredevil if you like Ed Brubaker (which I assume you do because you collect Captain America). Issue 106 will be the beginning of the next arc. If you like X-Men, Astonishing, Uncanny, and X-Men (soon to be known as X-Men: Legacy) are all good. And Ultimate Spider-Man is usually good.

Daredevil has been the best read for a while (like Max Power said, written by the same guy that writes Cap) I'd also seriously consider looking in to the new Fantastic Four run. Starting with Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch’s FF# 554, it is going to be the most talked about book of the young year. ![]() Thunderbolts has been fascinating and I'm intrigued by the militaristic black ops team of the new X-Force. I know that's six books but check them out before you make your final cuts. |

Thanks for all the advice!
I really want to read daredevil, but i think im wait till i have more money and buy the trades of bendis' run first, since i've heard so many good things about it. I read iron fist #1, and liked it a lot, so i think i might try to catch up on it. I just bought all three issues of brand new day, and I liked it a lot. I was out of the country when one more day happened, so i don't really know what happened, and don't want to waste my time with it. I think I like Brand new day a lot more than some other people because I don't have the aftertaste of one more day, and am reading spider-man with a clean slate. I haven't read cap yet, i ordered the issues i missed while I was away, and am still waiting for them. I don't want to read the series out of order. I've been buying trades of ultimate spider-man, and have read up to vol 5. I think I wanted to try out the avengers titles so badly because i love bendis' work on ultimate spider-man. Should I try out detective comics batman or just batman? I've read a few issues of detective comics and like it a lot, and it seems to consist of relatively small arcs, which i like. One question about iron fist. How many arcs are they into the series? |

Bendis unfortunately isn't nearly as good on NA/MA as he is on USM, but you'll discover that on your own soon enough. Iron Fist is just finishing it's second arc. I'd recommend you just pick up the first trade, then go from there. |

I wouldn't recommend Nova unless you're vaguely familiar with the character or if you followed Annihilation. Problem is many major titles are either coming off a major event or are in the middle of one. If the Spidey title really impresses you I'd stick to it. I'll also recommend Detective Comics so as long as Paul Dini is at the helm.
