No way! Batman Beyond is really good, like most of the other WB animated shows... Maybe it's not as good as the other ones like BTAS and JLU but it's still pretty cool stuff!

If anything, it's underrated. Like Wesley pointed out, it's not as good as the other DCAU series involving Batman, but it's still a great take on the character. And ROTJ wasn't its only shining moment.. the death of Mr. Freeze was a tragic end to a tragic character, and the return of Ra's al Ghul (although very bizarre) was classic. There are other great moments in the series as well, but those are two that really stand out for me.

I agree with Bat-Mite, this show is underrated not overrated. It might not have been of BTAS quality, but it was still a fantastic show.

Loved it.

Though you are entitiled to your oppinion, I strongly disagree. Batman Beyond is an interesting and overall dynamic idea. The costume, the car, and the villains are imaginative.

The supporting characters need work, and it fizzles out when they get rid of their best villains, however.

Well I used to like Batman beyond. Then when I revisited the episodes them seemed too over the top. I don't know what it was but the fact that another guy as Batman and all that really took away a lot of potential other cool future stories from the Tim-verse. It just seemed like the Timverse already had a future that was set in stone and things like tim drake's career ending so early and no real mention of nightwing in the show stated to annoy me.

Borderline off topic, but I wish they would show the real version of Return of the Joker on Cartoon Network! THey only show the "Kiddie" version.

I agree with just about everything that has already been said that is on the positive side on this show. Beyond has almost a cult like following. Ive found that you either like the show or you dont, there doesnt seem to be much of an in between. It was a very big risk when they did this show and I think it paid off for Timm and Company. Heck, they even revisited that future with a JLU episode and the Beyond universe was even touched upon in the comics.

Batman Beyond is very superb. To be honest i never really payed attention to it, nor liked it as a kid.. but now I couldn't love it more!

Maybe beacause Ive grown up and realized what a good quality and story overall it is. Especially when they re visit it in JLU

I thought it was a really lame idea at first. "(Something) of the Future", i.e. Marvel 2099, almost always ended up terrible and gimmicky.

This show succeeded because it remained faithful to Batman, and had good writers.

But as awesome as it is, and as JLU is, I'd give it all up for more episodes of BTAS.

^I had the same initial feelings. During the primetime premiere, I was just ACHING for Bruce to suit up and kick that punk to the curb.

But given time, the show developed well and Terry became a very interesting character (sans that whole genetic 'son of Bruce' BS from "Epilogue," which I personally choose to ignore.)

And I totally hear you on more 'BTAS' episodes. They should just go ahead and do it. Bring in villains they hadn't used like Zsasz, Black Mask and such. Perhaps kick the show off with a big 'No Man's Land' like crisis.

That'd be soooooo awesome.

Well, For the most part, I was upset that someone besides Bruce Wayne was Batman. But, the show did have some cool moments, and I loved the villain Blight. He's the only action figure I have from the show actually. The Batsuit was really cool looking, so I can't complain there. I guess I really just need to watch more of it.

As much as I'd like to see that, if we're revisiting the '90s, then the first thing I want them to do is dig out the pencils, paintbrushes and paper, and make that fourth season of Superman that they were talking about on the third volume. "Legacy" works as a bittersweet ending to the series, but the revelation that they weren't planning to end the series there totally kicked my desire for more into gear. It'd be great for them to finish the series proper--and not in digital. I understand digital can be more convenient, but it sure does look cheap compared to BTAS/STAS/TNBSA.

And on topic, I haven't seen Beyond in a while, but I did like it a lot. I need to get those on DVD, and finally get around to seeing JL/JLU.

Beyond is fantastic. Like someone else mentioned, I too hated it as a kid. Don't know why, exactly. Now it's the bees knees. ROTJ is it's shining moment, but not the only one. I love this show.

I'm actually watching "Rebirth" as I type this.

This show was awesome. It's on DVD, right?
I don't know why, but the idea of Terry being Batman never bothered me as much as it did other people. Maybe because I realized Terry wasn't Batman, he was Batman Beyond.

Today I downloaded 4 episodes (The 'Rebirth' two-parter, 'Meltdown' with Mr. Freeze, and 'Heroes' with the Fantastic 4 analogues). All of them were quite good.

I could never get into this show not then and not now I also think ROTJ is pretty much boring and uninspiring. Then again I just didn't like Terry I found him to be an obnoxious character. I have no issue with someone else taking up the mantle but I wish it had been Dick or if someone new then someone more interesting.

I also think that things like Babs being Commissioner came across as forced even though this has even shown up in potential futures in the comic books. I don't know I guess I'll never get the appeal I may have enjoyed BTAS and STAS but I don't think Bruce Timm is infallible. I guess it had some interesting concepts but nothing about it really felt like Batman to me.

While I respectfully disagree, I do understand your point. And you're right about Timm not being infallible.

I guess it just has to do with the fact that THAT particular creative team (Timm, Dini, Burnett, Murakami, etc.) seemed to care far more about the characters then the teams behind any other animated series based on comic characters. High quality story telling all around.
