Default Gargoyles the Live Action Movie

I posted in another thread about casting a live action movie based on popular cartoons,
But I thought I'd try to expand this idea:

I'll start with one I was considering the other day:
How about a live action Gargoyles movie?

I was looking at who voiced who, and for the most part the voice actor matched the character they were playing, so why not cast the voice actors as the live action characters they played in the cartoon?
Of coarse for the Gargoyles, and other characters, lots of FX and make up and prosthetic would be used. But look at LOTR, and with CG, almost anything is possible nowadays. It would end up being a big budget movie though. Anyway here:

Keith David voiced Goliath

Just imagine him with lots of prosthetics and a combination of CG, make up, and other effects, to make him look like Goliath, sort of similar to the way they make Mikcy Rourke look like Marve.

Salli Richardson-Whitfield voiced Eliza Maza

Marina Sirtis voiced Demona

Like Keith David, Marina would require lots of prosthetics and CG (like Nightcrawler in X2).

Jonathan Frakes voiced Xanatos

Like Elisa Maza's character, Xanatos wouldn't need make up or FX.

The fallowing actors: Edward Asner, Bill ***erbakke, Jeff Bennett, and Thom Adcox-Hernandez, voiced the characters in this picture here.

Edward Asner voiced Hudson

And like the other Gargoyals, Ed would need make up and prosthetics and such.

Bill ***erbakke voiced Broadway

Same with Bill. (and I don't know why it bleeped out his name.)

Jeff Bennett voiced Brooklyn

Jeff would also need make up and CG and such.

Thom Adcox-Hernandez voiced Lexington

Her would also require some CG, make up, prosthetics, and other FX.
But like I have said before, its been done in X-Men, Sin City, Legend, and so on.

So cast a cartoon show, any cartoon. He-Man, the Simpsons, JLU, Ren and Stimpy, anything.

And to give you an idea of the sort of prosthetics and special FX I am talking about here are a few examples:

See, its possible.
the make up wouldn't obscure the actors faces too much either.
So that the audiance could still see who is playing who.
And if needed there could even be CG stuff used, like green screens.

For example, maybe Goliath needs to be larger than the actor playing him. By using the green screen method you could make him larger than the other actors (like they made the main bad guy in 300).

Clancy Brown voiced Wolf (of the Pack)

Laura San Giacomo voiced Fox (of the Pack)

Tom Wilson voiced Matt Bluestone

Just add some coloring to his hair and maybe come it differently.

Richard Grieco voiced Tony Dracon

John Rhys-Davies voiced Macbeth

Perhaps they could do his character like they did with him as Gimly in the Lord of the Rings, only pick an action hero guy and CG his face onto him.

I have them all, in fact...

For Puck I have an idea, but it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Here are some more special effects examples:

Legend turn Tim Curry into this,

And Sin City turned Micky Rourke into this,

And LOTR turned John Rhys-Davies into this...

using a combination of CG, prosthetics, and a body double.

And as I mentioned earlier, if a character needed to look bigger they could just use green screen and CG effects like 300:

I love Gargoyles too. I just thought how cool it might be to imagine (maybe even do photo manips of what a real life version might look like. Also all the character's look like their voice actors... sort of.

Tim Curry voiced Dr. Anton Sevarius

I know who looks different but Tim Curry in the role would be cool, maybe he could get a flat top.

Terrence Mann and Kate Mulgrew voiced

Michael Dorn voiced Coldstone

Is it just me, or do all the voice actors already look perfect as live action counterparts?

They do, especially the humans. The Gargoyles need a little make up but still look like their cartoon counterparts. And they are not just regular voice actors either, they are actors who have been in movies and TV shows.

Here are more,
The Maza family:
Michael Horse voiced Peter Maza (Eliza's father)

Nichelle Nichols voiced Diane Maza (Eliza's mother)

Monica Allison voiced Beth Maza (Eliza's sister) But so did Roxanne Beckford

Rocky Carroll voiced Derek Maza/ Talon (Eliza's brother)

And for the Talon make up there is a variety of FX and make up that could be used:

Anything from body doubles, to CG, to make up and prosthetics, even animatronics.

Some special effects examples to show how it can be done:

Bronx:

Of coarse today it would be done much better right?

The Steel Clan:

The only actor who really wouldn't work for his character is Davies with Macbeth.

Thats because he is supposed to be more like Sean Connery.
They told Davies to do his best Sean Connery impression and they designed his character to look like him.
Thats why I suggested using his face on someone elses body. Just like they did with him in Lord of the Rings.

They didn't do that in Lord of the Rings. That was him in the Gimli costume. They did use body doubles for some shots, and otherwise used camera angles and elevated/lowered set pieces to make him look shorter, but that was Davies in the costume. Anyway, I think doing that would be kind of unnecessary, and would hurt the performance.

Also, the other actors who wouldn't work are Mat Frewer and Cree SUmmer (Jackal and Hyena). The age (and race) difference would hurt the plausibility of them being twins.

I didn't know thats how they did it. I thought they did this ground breaking thing where they CGed his face over doubles and did (the opposite) put the real actor in costume for close ups.
Thats interesting. But its true that would probably not work well and hurt the performance. But I was just trying to see if the entire original voice cast could be used without replacing anyone. (you know, they don't necissarily need Macbeth. Although he would probably be used and is a fan favorite.

Apart though those two would work as the characters they portrayed in the cartoon.

Just give him a really good long haired wig and he could play Jackal.

And she could play her character too,

But they couldn't be twins because of their age, your right.
In the cartoon they were turned into cyborgs, maybe they can use that to work them both in the movie without replacing them. Use the cyborg thing somehow.
