My friend (who is also a fellow superherohyper) invited me to go because he was one of the winners chosen from this contest.

I was a bit dissapointed about the audience though. Most of the audience were casting calls. More Watchmen fans should have been in attendance!

Okay.
I believe it's the closest adaption that's possible. There are scenes that are EXACTLY like the GN. And those are the scenes that made me smile like a dumbass.
I really think fans of the GN should be thankful that Zack Snyder directed the film. He is a huge fan himself. And he said that when the studio came to him he was very reluctant to take the project. But then he started thinking of what horrid things other directors could do to Watchmen if they followed the script that they showed him.
So, he said yes. Because they would have SLAUGHTERED the GN.
It would have been set in the present with the war on terror and Manhattan in Iraq. Blegh.

haha true. remember when Snyder gave a gist of what the "Hollywood" version was going to be like and so he took it upon himself to not let Hollywood ruin the novel. So seriously guys be thankful that it was all in Snyders hands rather than Michael Bay cuz we saw what happen with Transformers.

Exactly. I threw up a little when he told us what could have been.

I was behind the 4 guys who left after the movie. and next to the asian who was screaming "IS THAT YOUR FINAL ANSWER!!" to the host of the show. they also stood up to show their home made happy face pins.

Let's see, I was in the row behind an asian guy that was wearing a yellow shirt and a black blazer with a smiley pin. He was asked to stand up by that guy who was making fun of everyone with Hot Topic shirts. Naturally.

We were pretty close then! I was sitting to the right of the screen next to the aisle. We were sitting behind a guy who was wearing a fedora hat so we couldnt see very well.
