I think in the end young k will be brought into the future, that gives them further opportunity for sequels since jones is getting up ther in years and doesnt really seem like he wants to be there in the first place

Assuming we get a Men in Black 4. And if we do, it might be 10 years from now.

If this movie makes a killing we'll see another one in two years!

I doubt it. the rule is that a Men in black movie can only have one movie per decade.

The reason why we didn't see another Men in Black after the second one is because the studio head at the time was an a-hole and Barry Sonnenfeld didn't want to work on another one because of his interference on that film. The reason why we have a third one is because Will Smith made this happen, he's now successful enough to pull his weight around in Hollywood.

And guess what? Will Smith and a douche producer greatly interfered with MiB3!

Actually they went into MB3 with no script just the first act, and that's why Will interfered. Who's this douche producer you are speaking of and where did you hear of this?

And that is just stupid. I'm not saying the movie will be an utter failure but that's not a good start.

You don't start filming a movie when you only have the first act done. Ive read all about the production problems. It's dumb and it's hard to justify that when you're dealing with so much money and time.
Now I did like the second trailer but I remain skeptical for now. |

Was Will Smith really re-writing the script as they went along?

The reason it so long for part 3 is that 2 was a disapointment box-office wise. If this one makes bank then, like CGHulk said, we will get another in a couple years.

There was a full shooting script when production started, maybe they planned on tweaking it as they went along - like almost ALL scripts - but they did not start with only part of a script. |

Yes they did, the director told Empire they started shooting without a second or third act.

Actually, they had a full outline, but Smith, Sonnenfeld and the executives all had different ideas on how to do the third act, so they filmed the movie while the writers sorted out their ideas for the final product.

I think we need an alien that feels as threatening as Edgar. That is sort of what was lacking in MIBII.

they had a full script, several in fact, none of them varied that much from one another, just the details - the overall plot was there from the start...

There's a lot of spinning going on, so it's hard to believe who's right and who's not.
As far as I know, there was script delays and problems which resulted in last minute rewrites. |
