Guy Gardner is no longer a doofus with a bowl cut.

In the past several years, he's transformed from a bit of a joke, into arguably the most badass Green Lantern around. He's cool and respected. Abrasive, but tough and smart. Suggestions like Sean William Scott or Adam Sandler would be fine if you were casting bowl-cut Guy Gardner from the 80's or 90's, who was consistently portrayed as an obnoxious idiot.

But Honor Guard Lantern Gardner....the guy who is currently more respected within the Corps than Hal Jordan, and who is a natural leader of the corps. I want that "Guy", not the comic relief from JLI who exists to make Hal Jordan look better.

The current conception of Guy is that he's the Dirty Harry of the Corps. A sh/tkicker, not to be trifled with. Whoever is cast, should be capable of being a badass, not just have an obnoxious smirk and comic timing.

Jeremey Renner fits the description. Cocky, hardass. Sense of humour, but mot someone to be messed with or taken lightly. Bradley Cooper is decent...but I've never bought him as a badass. I think Chris Pine would be good personality wise, but too much of a pretty boy for Guy.

This would be weird, as he's been heavily touted to play Hal once....but Nathan Fillion could actually make a pretty awesome Guy. He can be cocky and funny. And defintely badass. Fillion looks rugged and isn't too much of a pretty boy, which works for Guy. I always felt Fillion had a bit too much personality for Hal anyway.

I think this would be a great way to get Fillion in the live action franchise (as opposed to just voicing Hal in cartoons).
