New rules for discussion of the leaked version of Wolverine:

This thread is for discussing the possible ramifications of the leaked version of the film. REVIEWS FROM THE LEAKED VERSION ARE NO LONGER PERMITTED.

An official review thread will start when the movie is officially released.

If you've seen it, you can say whether you liked or disliked it, but specific details from the leaked film itself will no longer permitted, since those details were from an illegally obtained copy of the movie.

Anyone posting spoilers from the bootleg will receive a one-month probation from SHH. No exceptions.

I would assume since the movie has yet to be released, that those specifics would have to be eliminated from the discussion as well. That's just what I would have gathered. Could be wrong though.

i dont see how the Leak will actually effect the film (negatively) in any way.
Its an incomplete version, missing scenes, CGI, and the coloring is diff in every scene, not the complete score, to the point its clearly a workprint, not a screener. Its very rough.
Even so, i remeber a screener for 300 leaking out, and other movies, and it seems to be those movies, break box office records, hmmmmm. The workprint did nothing, but make me want to see the final completed version even more.

All the leak did for me is make me want to go see a finished copy with finished effects, score, etc. It didn't effect me any way.

This reminded me of X3, just worse. It felt like Ratner was directing this. And I'm not judging the effects, score or shoddy cuts. The story is just bland, uninspired, with leaps in logic and too much characters that simply didn't need to be in this movie.

Is Fox actually threatening websites that have posters talking about it as well? I think they're so afraid they are trying to use scare tactics with their FBI search on websites to shut up fans who saw it and think it's crap. Just saying because I've never heard of banning discussion of the details even with past films that have been leaked.

Warning or banning posters who post the links for illegal downloads or actual screen caps makes perfect sense but discussion, that's a bit much.

I dont think it will have that big of an effect. A portion of the hardcore fans will sit through an unedited print, and the general audience wont. Another portion will be some that will just skim to see what it looks like. The hardcore fans will still go to the theatre to see the finished mix.

the real money maker are not the hardcore fans, thats almost guaranteed money. Its the general audience. If the movie sucks word of mouth will reach the general audience regardless of wether there is a leak or not considering the hardcore fans that do watch it will be the audience that will be there on opening night.

People will pay to see a movie they want to see on the big screen.

Don't get me wrong. I completely understand this situation, I just mean that if you wanna talk about the workprint there's always other places.
