That was a good interview with Gavin Hood . He knows that getting the essence of the character is the most important detail and from there you can take some liberties. The did a good job with Sabretooth. I just wish it were a better interpretation in X1

The Magneto movie focuses on Magneto's very early life. The appearance would more likely be explained in X-Men: First Class I think.

I think there are a variety of ways to explain X1's Sabretooth if they need to. They can say he was an imposter or a clone. They could have Victor Creed stole the name from the dead one. They could something happened to his brain between movies and he turned into a more animalistic character. They could say Magento used his machine to try and turn Graydon Creed into a mutant like his father and failed. Or they could say Magneto heard about Victor Creed, thought he had died, and decided to trick everyone into thinking he had the real one.

Anything works really. It's not a big deal as long as they keep Liev.

i dont think he does loose his memory...

theres clearly an importantance of those wolverine dog tags to him in x-men 1

the appearance could always be explained away as a secondary mutation or something. though honestly i dont think we will ever see an explaination or another x-men prequel.

I believe, despite not being that much bigger, Liev will be a decent Sabertooth and will probably be the only version of Sabertooth I believe I can relate to on an emotional level. I hope.

they are. but if you watch wolverine or if you already have you will see that the origin is not exactly like in the first movies.

''running naked with hes claws out''. and dont even try to explain it. it doesnt fit.

That's true. This movie doesn't strive for continuity with the X-Films at all, so it doesn't really matter.

The x2 flashbacks take on weapon x is much better it shows the pure horror he had just endured.You know with the blood all over his body and was emotional with the look on Jackman's face than a mean snarly slo motion grin.

That flashback was a lot more dark, gritty, horrific, and traumatic then the entirety of this film. Singer had a better vision for Wolverine's origin then Hood and co.

I never wanted an explanation involving the de-evolution of the Sabretooth in the new movie into he Mane vesion like alot of people did.

I think most people should be able to accept that the difference is because of X1's poor execution due to budget and other Fox problems.

To take time from this movie just to explain that would be a waste.

I would have liked a reason why Logan and Creed don't remember each other though. It could have happened during a failed adamantium bonding to Sabretooth which was either interrupted by Wolverine or result of him rejecting the metal but not memory implants.
