Clone Wars just isn't that good IMO....GI Joe is a different animal because the fanbase is different...can they do something that has a wide appeal...maybe...but is it worth the time to do so?

The over whelming majority of Marvel and DC comics have been aimed at a very narrow and shrinking adult readership for several years now, and we have seen the obvious huge negative effect that has had on sales. |

Yes, but GI JOE as a toyline. Its not like a Marvel/DC universe. GI JOE originated as toys.
The new toys that are selling very well, their largest audience are collector, older figure enthusiasts. 25th Anniversary has been selling for Hasbro better than anything GI JOE in a long time. Also it doesn't look like Resolute was meant to be anything more than Resolute anyway.

Watched the finale on youtube. Was fairly disappointed with Cobra Commander. Yes, he was more ruthless than previous cartoon incarnations but the way they executed it still left him incompetent. I mean, why kill the messenger? It's not like he messed up and it just leaves you with even less manpower.

It was all right.....kinda fast paced. I like how they maintained Tunnel Rat's Jersey-ish accent.

I do agree with you that RESOLUTE seems to be an entity onto itself and was never meant to be a regular series. |

It's an old military term....it means that the site is clear of any enemy activity or facilities

All things considered I liked the final product. It was obviously written to be close to the mid to late first generation G.I. Joe comic. This fact puts it ahead of the previous animated series or the Devil's Due take on G.I. Joe.
I'd definitely suggest that they go after some different voice actors though if they were going to make this into a regular series.

I finally got to watch this last night. This is what a GI Joe cartoon should have been. That was some impressive stuff and I could handle the anime vibe because it wasn't that over the top **** that is on Saturday mornings. I was shocked about the fate of Storm Shadow. I want more of these and I want this on DVD.

I need more Firefly in the Resolute-verse. He can finally be properly utillized now that they're open to showing brutal and deadly violence.

It was great! They need to do more, there needs to be a new GI Joe animated movie every year!

So is Storm Shadow, because they finally show him killing a GI JOE (albeit off-screen).

It was just soo rushed!!!
They should have shown all of the Joes on the finale. Enough of this 5 minute episodes. And also put a bad a** intro to complement this bad a** animation. |
