I think Fox should just let the project rest... I doubt the project really had much potential anyway even with Renolds involved. The movie would have been overlooked by all the other comic book films coming out in the next three years anyhow. Just can the project and move on.

No, **** Reynolds, he promised us Comic book 'Pool on the big screen. **** Green Lantern! I have no desire to see a GL film in the slightest.

Give me Deadpool Reynolds you bastard!

He may have promised it but that doesn't mean Fox was going to go along with it, perhaps he realised they wanted to go in a different direction with the film so he moved on. IMO Fox has been doing a really horrible job with their movies lately and I just can't see them making a good Deadpool movie.

Exactly. With Fox's track record for making "good" comic book movies, we're better off leaving the perfect Deadpool movie to the imagination.

Why do people think these things are so exclusive?

"**** GL, now I cant get my Deadpool"

Why not? Reynolds isnt retiring after GL is he?

no its because it rarely happens when somebody crosses over from one rival company to another that they come back to their initial company.

Also I heard Fox was mad that MArsden left X-Men for SR

Ryan is the only reason a Deadpool movie is even being considered. It has nothing to do with rival companies, its the fact that Ryan is literally the driving force behind Deadpool. Fox could risk losing Marsden, but without Ryan there is no project. And if there's no project, there's no profit. And if there's no profit, than Fox cares.

People are seriously naive if they think Reynolds CHOSE GL over Deadpool, and that he's just gonna roll over on the role he knows hes best suited for, that he knows everyone wants him for, and that he actually wants to do.

Are we really going to believe that there was some internal meltdown between Renolds and Fox that led to Renolds signing with WB and Co. after telling Fox to **** off? Are we really going to stir that up... already? Can we at least wait for the next development??? Sheesh. But yeah I don't like him doing two franchises. And I can't see him doing MULTIPLE movies for both franchises. Maybe there was something there between Fox/Renolds that created a rift, but it's just too soon to speculate. I think though that if I am Fox I hold off on the Deadpool movie. Maybe put him in the Wolverine sequel as a supporting character again so that audiences can get even more familiar with the character, then go back and do the spinoff film, like how Wolverine was handled. That's the safe play IMO. But yeah if I was Fox I'd be VERY receptive to the fact that my lead for a potential franchise just signed with a rival studio. That would bother me... BIG time. Enough to derail the project entirely.

If Reynolds doing GL delays or cancels Deadpool I'm gonna be ****ing pissed. **** GL, **** DC. With the exception of Batman, I have absolutely no desire to see a DC movie. You know what I do really really want to see though? A ****ING DEADPOOL MOVIE THAT IS MADE EXACTLY THE WAY REYNOLDS DESCRIBED HOW HE WANTS TO DO IT.

Like them or hate them, give DC their due. WB has been iching to strike back at Marvel movies. Yeah they already have an uber successful franchise in Batman, but blame the obnoxious Bat fans for their self-righteousness and/or deragatory remarks regarding Marvel properties. Don't blame DC. And this is Fox that takes the hit... not Marvel Studios. Keep that in mind.

I'm not blaming DC for anything, I just really don't find any of their characters interesting besides Batman and all of Reynold's talk just got me really really psyched for a faithful Deadpool movie. **** this news.

Why can't Reynolds do both? Did they ever set a release date for Deadpool? No. They never even said Deadpool would be the next X-men movie.

There's no rule that says he can't do both, but it'd be like asking, "Why can't RDJ do both Iron Man and Batman?"

I dont know I say if Ryan is off filming GL that gives deadpool more time to get a solid script ready, and get a director so when hes done filming he can just go right back to work on pool. Seriously guys calm down its not like we had a release date for deadpool anyways.

You guys that say he can do both act like that's what an actor would want to do. Let's say he signs a three picture deal for Green Lantern, are you trying to tell me he's going to want to spend the next 6-8 years going back and forth between 2 different superhero franchises? He'd have no time to do any other movies, and that's a long time to be stuck playing the same two characters........Deadpool is dead

Its still only greenlit, and Reynolds said he had other projects he had to finish before doing Deadpool.

I'm sure the first question Ryan gets will be about Deadpool. Because while I dont think the studio will give up on Ryan because he continued acting, Ryan could have given up on the project because Fox's interference.

I honestly don't want a Deadpool movie without Reynolds. I really think he was the driving force behind making it faithful and good and without him I'm sure Fox will **** it up like they always do. Stupid Green Lantern.

If Nicholas Cage can get 7 movies done in a year then im sure two movies won't be too difficult for Ryan Reynolds.

But then again...it is Nicholas Cage.

Actually it wouldnt. It would be more like asking "Why can't RDJ play Iron Man and a character he'd actually be appropriate for?" And the answer would would be "He can." Because thats how actors work. They do more than one movie.

Who said Reynolds left Deadpool just because he is doing GL. Hes also doing the Buried but that doesnt mean that he shat on all the other films he is planning on making. Im only upset now because he wanted to do the flash and now that hes GL he cant because its the same universe. Would've made a better flash but i can understand him wanting to get in on the DC universe instead of waiting for the flash wich he might not have gotten anyway

oh yeah and Ryan wouldnt leave DP for GL he is much more a DP fan and wants to give the fans a film they can be proud of. its the only reason he did Wolverine

When Fox rightfully moves forward without him, fans are going to go in to their usual anti-Fox rant but it's not their fault. You can't use the same actor for two high profile characters in films that will be released so close together. Reynolds flat out stabbed Fox in the back as well as Deadpool/Marvel fans everywhere.

I think here is the battle plan for Fox, you sit on Deadpool until GL comes out, but don't piss Ryan off to a point of no return. If you are Fox and you need to make more movies, do Wolverine 2/First Class/FF3 for 2012... any one of those or perhaps two if they need a Winter/Spring release (assuming it's too late or too crowded to release one of those films in 2011). Then wait and see how well GL performs. If it is successful and WB picks up the sequel option on Renolds, you can Deadpool. If the box office returns are so-so and WB is reluctant to greenlight the sequel, you IMMEDIATELY grab Renolds and try to get him to commit to a 2013-2014 release.
