And that reminds me, people report that in that scene, NEST sends a ton of Autobots and soldiers, only for Prime alone to take down Demolishor. Does he do everything in this movie? What the hell are those goddamn cannons on Ironhides arms for?
And the awful part is this movie was absolutely littered with moments like that.......... "uhhhhhhhhhh what" all over the friggin' place. I mean this was just mindless stupidity.

I really dont get some of you guys. I bet that everyone loved the movie but most will find that it is flawed to no end. So when someone asks for a comprehensive plot, better use of characters and CGI, they are not asking for Citizen Cain, they are just whining about some big flaws that could easily have been absent. So there is no point in using the strawman arguement.

Also, just because the G1 cartoon was a 30 minute toy commercial with barely any story or character development, it doesnt mean that the movie has to inherit all these flaws. Its a million dollar budget movie which needs a wider audience than that of 10 year olds. It should at least make some sense.

So could people please stop using the strawman arguement now?

They can't make a G1 because the movie has to appeal to all audience members......but in fact Bay managed to create the child-like mindlessness....... I mean it literally made no sense throughout a good portion of the movie.

LOL, it was the same guy. Frank Welker did that voice for Dr. Claw and Darkseid as well. They just didn't add the vocoder in ROTF.

Glad you knew who I was referring to though......... I knew I wasn't the only.

Hopefully in the third movie, the Transformers take center stage rather than humans. Don't even bother giving the "it's cost prohibitive" excuse 'cause this franchise is a proven money maker.

Look at the budget for Cameron's Avatar...and we all know that movie could very well turn out to be crap.

Hey genius, I don't know about you but he sounds just like that to me in ROTF. Especially in that first clip at :29, only without that overdone synthesized effect.

I go to a movie to be entertained. I was entertained.

Unlike some posters on these boards I don't make it a point to nitpick a movie to death. Sure the plot may be a little wonky and some scenes straight up stupid but you know what, I enjoyed myself while watching this film.

I don't feel the need to justify why I had a good time, I just did. Just as you don't need to justify why you didn't...its just a lot of people on these boards can't help themselves.

For those who were keeping track of names for Decepticons before the movie came out, and knew of the Constructicons, weren't they at two places at the same time during the finale??
Longhaul, tall green one, Rampage (killed by Bumblebee), Scrapper, and Hightower, yellow ones(?) were supposedly chasing Sam and Mikaela in the buildings along with Starscream, but also they formed Devastator at the same time half a mile away while they were there..? There's only six , but the same looking ones were across town forming? big editing mistake?

One review said

"A stunning opening sequence ... packs more action into fifteen minutes than most films manage in two hours."

Is this TRUE?

Okay I found one guy two pages back that mentioned this, but come on guys can we talk about the severely bad editing of having the same Exact Decepticons (Constructicons chasing Sam and already formed into the Devastator!) in two places at the same time??!

That's where I about lost it............I had put up with 2 hours of pure nonsense and then that was the moment that cemented my hatred for what Bay did to this movie. How can he be so stupid as to have a battle scene showing the Constructicons combined and climbing the pyrmamid, then flash over down the road where the constructicons are individual and fighting in a battle?

I loved the first movie and found ways to excuse the negative parts in my mind. I don’t know if I can do that this time. I’m very disappointed in this film. It’s sad because the story seems like it could have had potential, and I don’t know if it’s the writers who dropped the ball or if it was Bay’s “I do what I want” attitude. Where to begin.
Ok, they didn’t have as many human characters this time around, like people complained about from the first one, which is good. But the one new character they gave us was completely unnecessary. He just whined and really was a p*ssy. They could have left his ass at the college. But despite that there was less emphasis on the humans, the robots got even less characterization then the first movie, and that’s really saying something. The Arcee bikes, Sideswipe and that other purple autobot (I don’t think they mentioned his name) got nothing. They might as well not have been in the movie. Of the four characters that actually had something to do with the plot, we have Jetfire with an old British man accent, Wheelie with a stereotypical Brooklyn accent, and the twins with stereotypical redneck/ghetto accents. I remember reading that there were going to be like thirty robots this time around. And I knew it was going to be like this, but it doesn’t count when most of the robots are generic Stormtrooper-esque characters only to be shot and killed.

Some questions that have been bugging me. So the first Transformers arrive on Earth during the Stone Age, and stick around fighting each other until Egyptian times? No mention of this in any historical record ever? Why would the energon machine need to destroy the sun? Are the Transformers THAT urgently in need of THAT much energy? And if so, what have they been feeding off of for the tens of thousands of years that they first arrived? How does this fit with the first movie’s plot? Is this before or after the destruction of Cybertron? Or the cube landing on Earth? Ahhh…. There are just too many going through my head, and it’s late and I’m tired.
Basically, I think the plot of the 80’s cartoon movie was superior to this movie.
I’ll see it again to see if my opinion changes.

Can't help ourselves or legitimately upset?

..........and I'm a person who knows when to cool it with the quasi-critic antics when I go to watch fun summer action movies.

Yes because the VOCODER makes that much of a difference to Soundwave's voice.

Its still sounded the same to me.

Fine then go and be 'legitimately upset'. But (this isn't directed to you, its a general comment) don't try and act all confused/dumbfounded and start questioning my criteria of what I consider to be quality films simply because I actually liked what I saw tonight.

I'm not arguing this point with you anymore because you're dead wrong. You're the only person on this planet with that opinion. Again, go watch the Youtube clips. In G1 Soundwave had a vocoder used for his voice. This is fact. They did not use it in this one. Crap, go check out the video game. At least they had the decency to pay homage and use the real voice.

I'm not confused. It is in my opinion that you really don't care to the point that you're happy with expensive special effects and fighting robots and a plot so loose prostitutes start to seem like virgins. Your sense of humor is relegated to cheap sexual innuendos and excessive racial stereotypes.

Trust me. This much is clear.

Yeah, i was scratching my head.

I think people are now presuming they were different Decepticons who looked exactly the same as the constructicons - which is still ridiculously lazy and stupid.

Was to tired when I got home last night to type anything about it...overall I loved the film but some aspects about the movie bothered while I was watching. WTF was Bonecrushuer do there? Where are there 2 sets of constructicons? But I still enjoyed it. I thought the action this time around was much better than the first. Hopefully they don't wait to long to make the next one.

Lazy anyway you look at it................

I mentioned this elsewhere on the board, but what about when Jetfire punches thru the wall in the Smithsonian in Washington DC, walks thru, and ends up in a jet graveyard in the middle of a the Tucson desert. WTF man!?!?!?

So, just because your a fan of the source material you should automaticly love the film, even when the film is big incoherent mess?

Honestly, there's been a few posts on here today that are blowing my mind apart.

Is the cartoon any different? That is Action packed and all Deceptions are saying is "Energy Cubes" over and over. And Dinobots' leader Grimlock come in and say stupid things like "Me Big. Me Grimlock strong. Me smash you"?

I am sure critics would pick Grimlock apart, Guranteed!

This movie does EXACTLY how the cartoon does it. BIG ACTION. Stupid (But yet Great) one-liners!!

BTW, how they get Energy cubes makes NO sense

How Megaton can turn into a gun also makes NO sense.

How Ravage can turn into a cassette tape makes No sense.

So you want a movie that makes sense?
