The two-disc $39.99 Wolverine Blu-ray includes commentary by Hood, another commentary by producers Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter, the featurette “The Roots of Wolverine: A Conversation with X-Men creators Stan Lee and Len Wein,” the featurette “Wolverine Unleashed: The Complete Origins,” 10 character chronicles, two more featurettes, a trivia track, deleted scenes with commentary from Hood, two alternate sequences, a Fox Movie Channel premiere featurette and imdb BD Live technology. Disc two of the set includes a digital copy.

The two-DVD special edition ($34.98) includes the two commentaries, the featurette with Stan Lee and Len Wein, an origins featurette, deleted and alternate scenes, and an anti-smoking PSA; disc two has a digital copy. The single-disc DVD ($29.98) has the origins featurette and anti-smoking PSA.

Like i said... i think this only for the German release because over there the movie was slightly edited.

OK, so I'm loving my new blu-ray player right now.

I still don't have the X-Trilogy box set, so I'm thinking I'll pick that up when I get Wolverine and just have a marathon that weekend.

So how does an anti-smoking PSA qualify as an extra feature?

I like digital copies because it gives you a copy of the movie to put on your computer/ipod/iphone, etc. I commute from NJ to NY by bus everyday and often get stuck in traffic, it's nice to be able to put a movie on if I know it's going to be a long ride.

There's been a big push by anti-smoking groups to get rid of smoking in PG-13 movies. I was reading an article about one of these groups earlier this summer and they apparently even filmed a video of kids whining that there was smoking in Wolverine.

So I guess this is in reference to the smoking in the movie. The newest release of Pinocchio on DVD also has an anti-smoking ad, since Pinocchio does puff a cigar in one of the Pleasure Island scenes. But that's a 70-year-old cartoon and it makes sense to have it since the smoking is something we wouldn't see in a cartoon today.

This just seems silly.

The X3 DVD in the US was a mess - some copies at 10 deleted scenes, others had 20. There was an extra disc with the Walmart version that was supposed to have extra features but it was just some random documentary about the comics that nothing to do with the film.

Even the week the DVD was released, FX was showing X2 with behind-the-scenes features to promote the X3 DVD - none of the stuff they showed was on the DVD they were promoting.

I'm definitely looking forward to hear commentary from Gavin Hood - I was impressed with what I heard in interviews before the film was released.

I know, what the hell was that all about?...made me upset...don't get me wrong I love the documentary but I wanted what was promised...

It's coming out 2-1/2 weeks before I see Hugh on Broadway again. I told my mom (who's seeing the play with me) that she should come over and watch the blu-ray with me as a warmup. I don't think she's falling for it.

Looks like Fox gave this film the same crap dvd cover art it gives all it movies as of recent. When will these people ever learn. I guess when Rothman is ousted as CEO.
