Jetfire: Say, is that pointless war still going on? Decepticons... bunch of heathens! That's why I defected to the Autobots!

Defected. Past tense.

Well, Bee transforms into a Camaro, and the twins into small cars. They couldnt have possibly fit!
Now, Jetfire could have transported the humans and Bee and the twins could have scanned some planes of the Smithsonian, or better yet transform into pods or cybertronian jets. By the bayverse physics they could have done that, but i suppose its one of the unwritten rules. The autobots always drive where they need to go and besides, if Bay let the robots change form every now and then, it would have been impossible for us to follow what was going on and who's who...
And everyone in ILM would have commited suicide from all the workload...

Jetfire CLEARLY stated in the movie that he changed to the Autobots before statis lock. His actual sentence was "I changed sides to the Autobots." emphasis on the word CHANGED, not change.

The fact that he still had his Decepticon symbol was just meant to create tension when he awakened, he changed sides long ago, even saying all the negativity surrounding the Decepticons would have drove him crazy by now.

He defected well before he went into stasis lock.

Mostly engine, fuel tanks (it was designed for extremely long range), spy equipment, and a two man crew. It has no "cargo bay" to carry anything else.

and that space for the two man crew, is big enough for one man,,, just with 2 people stuffed in. They had to explain the space gate... it's the fallen's best power, and it also need to be explained to show us what happened to the Primes.

I doubt it as all the other seekers were still on Earth in stasis lock also, I just think they ran out of energon before completing their missions and that made them go into hybernation/statis lock.

I didn't mind Jetfire, I though he was cool, and how not having Energon for a while turned him into an old man, er, robot, but it was the concept that he and other transformers had been on Earth for a long time, which just insulted my intelligence. Wouldn't one of them have found a HUMONGOUS CUBE during their time on Earth? The Allspark is what brought the Transformers to Earth; Megs crashed there and the rest of the 'bots followed him to Earth, but if they had been on the planet for over a century, you think one of them would have found it. It would have worked much better if Jetfire had been exiled to Earth by the Fallen without energon, forcing him to stay in Blackbird mode.

The cube was frozen in the arctic, which even Megatron couldnt survive, and then it was moved to what Bannercjek described as "...the place to hide its energy from anyone or any other species looking in from the outside...." Thats why the seekers couldnt find it, plus I think the seeker were there to look for the Harvester as well as the tomb of Prime's. The tomb was Jetfire's mission remember.

I thought the cube crash landed where Hoover Dam resides, thus why the government just built the Dam around it instead of trying the giant thing, while Megatron crashed because of the magnetic pole screwing up his navigation.

They say in the first movie the cube was around since 10000 BC, I'm sure the US would have discovered it before 1913 if it was there all that time.

I didn't think they would have the technology to covertly move something that huge back then. I figure it was they just found the cube, knew it was alien, and built a dam around it to hide it.

They had the technology to move Megatron, so I dont see how they wouldnt have to move the cube.

Bigger, yes, but nothing suggest it was heavier, especially as it could shrink to like a 20th of its original size.

Did Turturro voice Jetfire in the end or not? It sure didnt sound like him so I wonder who did the voice in the end?

Turturro offered to do the voice because he thought he would be a fun character (which he was), but Mark Ryan ended up doing the voice.

Didnt he voice Bumblebee in the first movie? Anyway, he did a great job.

As another person who wasnt sure about the changes made to Jetfire, I was happy with his role in the movie, not the length of it which was too short for me, but the importance he had to the plot and the ending. Some of his lines were great as well:

"I'm a mercenary doom bringer!" Ha ha, awesome, he kicked ass when he needed to also, just wish they wouldnt have killed as he would have been great to see more of him in TF3.

I loved when he got to the battle, he just popped in and started laying waste, shouting "BEHOLD, THE GLORY OF JETFIRE!!!" He said that a couple times I think. He was awesome.

^Agreed, and then saying, "This is how we brought the pain in my day."

I wish it wouldnt have been Scorponok who killed him though, I wish Jetfire would have been mortally wounded by The Fallen when trying to protect Optimus and The Matrix when The Fallen comes for it. Would have made for an infinitely cooler death scene for Jetfire.

Loved Jetfire's lines in the movie, especially the one you mentioned above Sym. But my favourite for Jetfire has to be "All my Decepticon life, I never did a thing worth doing until now.....Optimus, take my parts, and you will have a power, you've never known!"

Agreed totally, I would have preferred it if Jetfire hadnt of died at all, one of my favourite characters out of the Autobots ever, and they could have used The Matrix to not make him old anymore and the character we know and love in the comics.

But yeah, if he was going to go out, I would have preferred it being trying to protect Optimus from The Fallen, and overall I would have liked him more involved in the final battle, with comments from the likes of Starscream, etc, about him being a turncoat.

Gotta say I am extremely happy Turturro didnt do Jetfire's voice, Mark Ryan did a superb job and was totally spot on for the character IMO.

I would have totally preferred him not to die, in the comics he is one of the few Autobots who uses his brains as well as his brawn, and thats why he is such an interesting character and is always involved in the big storylines. He could have become this character in TF3 if they had kept him alive, I see no reason why he couldnt have just combined with Optimus, stating that Prime's are the only one's who can combine with Seekers, and hey presto. I still dont know why they just didnt use Kup for the old Transformer as well.
