Careful. They're a bit spoilery at times. Other than the questionable cgi during the finale, sounds okay to me. I like that they'll have Hawk saying the iconic Joe lines. |

I don't like the Duke/Baroness/Commander angle. I hate when everyone already knows each other. Wonder what the "X-men" like twist is.

I knew they had to work in the classic PSA line. I was hoping they would, and that actually moves it up a few notches in my iPhone.

What twist did the original X-men film have??
Unless they're talking about when Mystique tries to full Wolverine pretending to be Storm. Maybe what's his face(sorry can't remember his name it's been years, whoever the shapeshifter was) pretends to be someone important on the good side. |

Not bad. Sounds fun. The way the end is set up, I suspect the sequel will be more complex plot-wise considering what they leave hanging.

So, if someone who didn't like Transformers 2 likes GI Joe better, then would the same hold true for someone who did like TF2? That's what I want to know.

The comments about it being a live-action cartoon intrigue me. I haven't gotten that sense from the footage we've seen. Sure, the action is big, but I don't quite see "live action cartoon" unfolding. Perhaps they mean cartoonish in terms of things just showing up, or the tone of everything, which again, I haven't quite seen. Love the bit in that last review about the movie not explaining the tech, the hideouts, etc.

It would be cornier if they actually explained most of the stuff, I think. The nanites are already somewhat reality based, but this series has always been a sci-fi/military thing, and I doubt they would even tell civilians how they managed to build most of the ****.

Who wants an explanation for everything anyway? Do we need to know what principles cause lightsabers to work? Or how an X-Wing flies? What an odd thing to point out.
The only thing that requires explaining are the nano-mites which the main plot revolves around. I think this movie could turn out okay. The only thing is....it needs to make a lot of money. It cost a fortune, so it needs to open up at $70million at least and clear $200 million total. I'm not sure it can do it. There's been a lot of negative buzz on it. However, the general public isn't really privvy to all the rumblings. And even critics are coming around as more footage is shown. |

Read both reviews, and despite the fact that the reviewers actually think the movie is okay not terrible (one thought it's better than ROTF, which isn't hard to do since ROTF is only good with the CGI, and sux everywhere else), the reviews revealed several inherent problems that ultimately did not persuade me to see the movie. What gets me the most about the movie is that

My expectations were never high for this film but, it's a pleasant surprise to hear some reviews that are somewhat positive. I might see GI Joe if a few more of the tv spots keep me intrigued. What I find to be shocking is some of the reviewers found this film to be more enjoyable than transformers.

They don't sound all that positive to me. If anything, just confirms some of the crap I've heard.
"Live action cartoon" may work if your expectations are just keeping at the same quality as the cartoons, but I'm a fan of the old Marvel comic series written by Hama. I really don't see myself watching this outside of morbid curiosity. |

Do you hear that sound? It's like a vacuum! Suuucccckkkk!!!
Better than Transformers 2? My god! What an achievement! And the Baroness thing is terrible. Also, Cobra Commander went from mysterious menace to "My best buddy is now evil" However there is hope. Harry Potter 6 is depressing as hell, maybe the Joe's can cheer the people up
