You enjoyed the first one?

...You're joking, right?

Normally when I think of Iron Man enemies, I think of The Mandarin, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, etc etc, not 200 rockets flying directly at his face.

They already said they're not going to have 200 rockets flying at you, no more having to shoot things from a long distance, no more annoying jets, etc, etc.

What's the big deal if he enjoyed the first one? Should we question you about enjoying the Wolverine movie since you have a movie Deadpool as your avatar?

I have a WADE WILSON avatar. And because he was awesome in the movie.

I don't care if he liked it or not, if he liked it, fine. I'm just saying it's somewhat hard to see how someone can enjoy a game where you can't even get up because there is so much crap flying at you.

And honestly, the trailer looked exactly the same as the first game's trailer. So unless I hear some really good reviews, I won't even bother renting it.

Doesn't look much different than the first game. After the massive failure of the first one, I don't have much hope that they'll be doing it any better on the 2nd try.

So he was a badass telling Sabertooth if he needed a manicure and slicing a bullet in half.

Look, I think Prince of Persia is going to be another videogame to movie disaster and that The Last Airbender looks like kiddie crap, but you don't see me in those boards trolling and picking fights with people who are interested in those movies.

I agree Ryan was awesome in the role no matter how short it was. It showed promise, and despite the strange ending...it can all be fixed. Whether Fox will do it as Ryan and we want it done is another story.

exactly. It's just the norm now no matter how exciting a movie-game trailer looks, it (usually) disappoints. And I've been waiting for a fun Iron Man game for a long time. The last Spidey game was fun, Wolvie origins was fun, let's make it a hat trick with Iron man

Looks great, but I'll wait for the reviews first before I decide whether to get it or not.

Wow, looks exactly like the first game. Which sucked and was boring.

I want to play as Tony, drive in fast cars, get drunk and pick up hot chicks.

What the hell does POP or TLAB have to do with this?

And besides, I stated my opinion on the game, and I can because I have f***ing freedom of speech. If I want to say the game will suck, then I friggin will. Don't like it? Too bad. And yeah, Wade was bad-ass. I'm sure everyone will agrree on that.

The Punisher 2005 game was also another great game too. I especially love how the writers for the game's storyline was able to fit as many marvel characters as possible into it.

SDCC 09: Iron Man 2 First Look

July 23, 2009 - In 2008, Iron Man stormed into theaters and made fans across the globe, while the videogame tie-in stumbled onto the scene and sucked on just about every platform it was released for. With the buzz beginning to build for the next flick, it's also time to start talking about the next game.

The biggest thing the Iron Man 2 game has going for it seems to be the fact that it's packing a unique story. This isn't going to be a watered down rehash of the movie but rather a game that expands upon what's happening in Robert Downy Jr.'s latest blockbuster. Sadly, SEGA and Marvel weren't willing to delve into story specifics today on the Comic-Con show floor, but they did give me -- and the dozens of people who piled into the Marvel Comics booth -- the world's first look at just how this third-person action game would play.

Before you head out on a mission, you'll get to choose which weapons Tony's taking into battle. There will be the standard repulsors and Unibeam, but today also showcased rockets, missiles, and shoulder-mounted cannons. Although I didn't get to see how these were assigned or what type of upgrade system there might be, this is definitely an interesting addition to the Iron Man franchise and should give you a better sense of ownership of the character.

The guided demo opened in a warehouse where a bunch of robo-drones were being assembled. Some worker in a yellow suit approached his boss and begged to be allowed to leave, but the bad guy just activated one of the drones and let the robot wax the coward. Cut to Iron Man streaking through the sky with Jarvis chirping in his ear, and Tony nosediving into a grate to come out in the underground base. The bad guy laughs, deploys the kill command, and Stark's got a few dozen robots to fight off.

Now, two things struck me about this battle. One, Iron Man was fighting inside -- he never did that in the last game because he was claustrophobic or something -- and two, he was beating robots to death with punches and kicks -- another thing he never did in the last game. Keep in mind, these weren't shin kicks; Iron Man was mid-flight and would all of a sudden fly on over with his boot extended to kick some robot in the head.

For me, the moves seemed to be moving a little too slow, but this is a pre-alpha build of a game that's coming out in April, so I'd be willing to bet things will be moving a bit faster come 2010.

Once Tony took care of the tin cans, he went after the building's reactor before shooting out an exhaust vent. Taking down the reactor was more shooting and blasting, but when it came time to flee, the game mode moved to an almost on-rails flying section where the player had to guide Iron Man out of a long chute while avoiding obstacles and junk -- kind of like a flying mini-game. Again, it seems a bit slow, but it definitely had the right idea.

When he shot back to the sky, Iron Man began working over an enemy camp somewhere beneath a clear blue sky. With smokestacks and structures rising into the air, Iron Man blew up tanks and took on guards while looking for a specific terminal. While all of this was going on, a bar at the top of the screen acted as the game's radar. As Tony's orientation changed, so did the red mark on the radar indicating enemies. Meanwhile, the left side of the screen displayed separate meters for thrusters, shields, and weapons.

Eventually a giant spider-tank came after Iron Man and he had to take out all the mini-weapons on it -- and tap a button so as not to get crushed under the behemoth's foot -- before leaping into the air, tapping a button to power up a punch, and dropping the hammer on the ride to end the gameplay portion of the demo.

Before everything was said and done though, we did get to see a massive incarnation of the Crimson Dynamo lumber to its feet and come after Tony. Sadly, that's where the demo ended.

All in all, I'll be interested to see where this game goes. It's early right now, so I can't say I was blown away by anything, but the idea of customizing my loadout, playing a unique story, and being able to punch stuff does sound appealing. We'll have to wait and see how this one comes together as we get closer to the new movie.
