Default Creature From The Black Lagoon Remake.

What's taking so long for this movie to get made?

It's been in development for a long time. They have a director attached. He's doing it after The Crazies or whatever. But yeah, I want this to happen badly.

Hollywood has already remade most of the original monster films. Dracula, The Invisible Man, Frankenstein, The Mummy, and The Wolfman.

They're remaking George Romero's The Crazies?

If it has the right vision it can be good.

I liked Del Toro's take on it when he was attached.

My take would be expanding upon it more. Like Jackson's King Kong but edgier and scarier with a mix between The Thing and Alien.

I wouldn't mind a remake because I always felt that the original was lame anyway.

I just didn't dig the Creature costume. It didn't look scary at all.

It's 2009. The film was made in 1954. Give it a break.

Oooh, I've caused a stir!

So sue me, I never liked the original one. The creature's too damn cute! Look at him! He looks like some sort of lizard-wookiee.

Now THIS is how you make something look dangerous:

No thanks. The original Creature design was awesome and ahead of it's time in 1954, and love it to the point that I have a cast of one of the original Underwater suit masks.

I would like some slight modifications (like the Steve Wang/ Stan Winston Studios Creature in Monster Squad), but I would like it close to the original design as possible.

Storyline wise, I hope someone digs up John Carpenters Creation-ist themed script for his remake that was planned in the early 90's.

Hell, let's call him back. John did The Thing remake justice.

...sorry, but I think the second one looks more like a "lizard-wookiee". And IMO adding tons of fins does not make something look dangerous.

He did more than justice to it. That movie is one of his best. His second best, actually.

Can you explain Carpenters Creationist theme. The Gill-Man was created in a test-tube or something in his version?
