I guess whichever version has the most tracks that you like. Have you checked out Rock Band as well?

I would recommend Rock Band 2 over any Guitar Hero game.

I've enjoyed World Tour, but that's because it has a bunch of songs I really like.

Just having Hotel California made it worth it to me.

I've really been considering one of the two lately. The GH world tour complete package for only £99 seems to be winning the argument at the mo.

They threatened to stop developing for PS3. They're also trying to stop Brutal Legend from being released.

They also wanted Brutal Legend to be a guitar hero game, kind of.

It's taken them over 10 years to produce them.

Guitar Hero has been terrible since GH2. Harmonix was the talent behind the first few GH games, and they're making a much better series now with Rock Band. GH seems to care about nothing but flooding the market with crappy, terrible looking, over charted, piece of s**t games.
I hope that when Beatles: Rock Band comes out, it'll finally wake people up to the fact that Rock Band is doing everything GH is doing, and doing it about a million times better than those d**kholes over at Activision could ever even dream of doing. |

I say Rock Band is the way to go what with the option for an 8 piece drum kit, DLC Music Tracks miles beyond GH (you might want to look at the list...it's extremely lengthy,) Guitars with Fret inlaid buttons rather than raised colored buttons that allow for more natural hand movement/position sliding, Stage Kit option (all songs are programmed with a light sequence, really does add a great dimension to playing.)
GH is best for just buying the disc for any songs that you may be interested in. It's inferior in every way otherwise, even the chart is more difficult to read than Rock Band's. |

I agree. Activision keeps churning out new Guitar Hero games, instead of supporting their existing games, whereas RB2 has tons of DLC that is more affordable than spending $50-60 for yet another game. Go for RB2.

I have Guitar HeroWT. I was planning on saving up for RB2 but GHWT had just lowered down to like eighty bucks, then thirty some when I traded in a bunch of PS2 games and accessories. Looking back, it was a dumb decision, cause know that I'm settled in and on Live, I'm ready to trade it all in to get some funds for a RB2 set. Personally speaking, I find the RB2 songs (and those that are available for download) are much, much better than the songs on GHWT. If you look at the track record, its true that Activision is milking the cow. When I saw that Guitar Hero Smash Hits was out, I cant help but shake my head. Why put out a full priced game, when all those songs could be on Live/PSN for downloading instead? Its ridiculous. I plan on trading mine in before The Beatles hits.
Playing music games is about songs, so I'd advise that you look on wiki and check the songlists for the games that are out now, and songlist for the next game to help you decide. Which ever one has the most songs you like, get that one.

Ignore all the fanboyism going on and base your decision on which has the music you like. Ideally get both of them, and just choose which games controllers you like more. With both you get the best exclusive bands from both companies, and both games play very well.
I swear the music game fanboyism is as bad as the console bashing.

...I think Guitar Hero World Tour is the best Guitar Hero game you could buy for your PS3. BUT should you decide to look for another game totally, I would say go for Rock Band.
