Even though season 2 hasn't really gotten underway yet, Josh Fine previewed some of the character designs for who we will see in season 2.
So coming up will be COLOSSUS (returning), Magick, HAVOC, and FREAKING DEADPOOL! Nolan North will most likely play Deadpool again after Hulk VS. Colossus is getting a reintroductory storyline with Magick and will most likely be a regular character in season 2. Character model pics were shown for all of them which was very cool of Marvel to show us. Deadpool's design is pretty much exactly the same as Hulk VS. or rather similar. Same costume at least. Havoc looks to be wearing his current outfit.

Not sure what you mean.
But basically, I imagine it will work much like how Storm was brought back in for episode 4. In the first season you had characters gradually re-joining the team. With Colossus it will be similar to that.

Oh...my bad...I thought you meant he had kinda like his own origin storyline...now I got it, yea...like Storm's little episode, that would be cool!

Vile One was doing reporting for Toonzone for the Con.
![]() I'll try not to give the exact same responses in two topics. Colossus was already designed for Season 1 so I am curious whether it is really much different or not. I mean his character model was used in episode 1 and I think 8 after all. Aside for maybe a civilian model I don't see the need for many alterings. To be honest I have been let down by the show before so I'll wait until I see some finished product before I get giddy. That said, even if it is only one focus episode, Colossus hasn't had one on ANY show since 1994. Kyle, Johnson, and Yost have to top him crushing Omega Red with a tank. The irony is that despite only having two episodes in the 90's, they did give Piotr a mini storyline. His first was being a mutant with powers similar to Juggernaut who was always being accused of the lug's crimes, and trying to prove himself against that. The second was of course saving his family from bitter Ex-Commie's. The 90's show was imperfect and dated, but they usually tried to give their guest characters, such as Iceman, Nightcrawler, and Colossus, some sort of character drama when they popped up. I hope pairing him with Magik wasn't out of network desire for "teenage" characters, much as X-23 was half made because Kid's WB gave them fits in Evolution doing Wolverine solo episodes, so they made a kid version to tag along. Magik herself is complicated with all the demon stuff and I am curious what gets streamlined for a mainstream TV audience. I admit it probably isn't going to be easy trying to re-insert Colossus into the show after he sat virtually all of it out so far; I can't think of any cartoon show that introduced a character suddenly in the middle of Season 2 who became a big deal and it mattered at all. Especially if they already have a team of characters and some needed to be fleshed, like Iceman or Storm. But at least it seems they want to try. I hope they don't see the need to alter Colossus' personality much. A stoic "nice farmboy hero" has a place on a team of differing opinions, from gruff jaded leaders to emo trench coat donners and so on. Curious as to Havok's design as well. |

I don't think you can boil X23 down that way since that's a personal character for someone like Craig Kyle, and also Craig Kyle's favorite character. Not to mention, that X23 in the comics has far surpassed this ideal of needing another teenage character to tag along for Wolverine which only happened like what, twice in X-men Evolution?
Dread, you need to lay off. Colossus' model was the same as his model for season 1. No human model was shown. Also, second. I don't appreciate your cynical prediction on the inclusion of his sister. For one thing, Illyana was in the 1990's series, though not as Magik. For another, Magik has been an important recurring character in the comics throughout X-men history and lore. The show has included a ton of X-men characters young and old. The main team mainly features adults instead of teenagers, even though the X-men BEGAN AS A TEENAGE SUPERHERO TEAM of teenaged mutant students. Why not include Magik since we know Colossus went back to Russia to be with his family? We know Magik/Illyana should be there. Havoc has his modern character design.

To be fair, though, I likely prefer X-23 to Daken, and feel she has more life than he does. But naturally Kyle, Johnson, and/or Yost > Daniel Way. But I digress. I am curious how the X-Men justify slaughtering the Marauders in the comics because they are "clones who don't count" to themselves and yet still can try telling X-23 that she matters. Seems hypocritical. But anyway, I just don't like X-23 at all. Although I would be morbidly curious about a non-canonical meeting between her and Ben "Scarlet Spider" Reilly, the other much hated clone of an A-List character. Maybe they could take on Ragnarok, the evil cyborg clone of Thor. ![]() Quote:

It likely stems from her complicated mess of an origin in the comics that includes demonic possessions, time travel and alternate realities, the latter two are common needless distractions to X-Men Lore. The subplot with Illyana I guess was that she was someone who was even more "pure" than Colossus who wound up being tempted by dark forces, and unlike her brother, she succumbed. I just felt that the demon/magic stuff has nothing to do with what the X-Men are apart and does nothing but distract from their series' themes, much like time travel and space stories do. What do demons and alternate dimensions have to do with a hated minority class of heroes fighting for a world that hates and fears them, while trying to stop even worse members of their class from heavy handed revenge schemes? Nothing. That's not the fault of the W&TXM writers, though. If they have found a way to write Magik without bringing in all the complicated demon stuff, that would be awesome and I'd be very interested in seeing it work. The dilemma of the X-Men as a franchise is while there is a lot of excellent stuff to mine in their comic lore, there are also mounds and mounds of needlessly complicated hogwash. The challenge is deciding which is which. To be fair, by and large WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN has mostly made wise choices. They have Mojo, but so far not any of the alter-dimensional baloney with him. They dealt a lot with the threats that matter, like the Brotherhood, Magneto, Sentinels, etc. It's never easy. I'm also not opposed to teenage mutants showing up. Hell, I often used to defend detractors of X-MEN EVOLUTION who endlessly lambasted that show for it's teenage cast and the first two seasons dealing with high school stuff. Many of the X-Men started as teenagers. The problem is some writers in the past comics confuse "complication" with "quality". I think Magik was often a victim of that. Quote:

Dread, all your reasons for DISLIKING Magik are not reasons to dis-include her.
This show is not the same show as 90's or the same story as the comics. The comics only inspire shows so they can change things as they see fit. Magik is still Colossus sister and very much a crucial part of his life. For that reason she should be in the series. Besides being a kind Russian farmboy, Colossus is also a family man that is very protective of his family, its one of his positive qualities. Colossus died because he felt he owed it to the memory of his sister even though that in itself is foolish.

I know. That is why I said that if Kyle, Johnson, Yost & Co. can figure a way to use Magik without succumbing to some of the flaws or complicated bits from the comics, I would be interested in seeing what they come up with. It would be hard to have a Russian story without her if you have Colossus. I'm just not chomping at the bit for Limbo or demon hooved feet.

Well note that with Wanda we didn't get insane ***** that conjures up babies and creates House of M. We got a fairly conflicted, but strongly written and positive Wanda that believes in mutant superiority but doesn't want to achieve it the way her father wants and is also in love with Kurt. We got a very strong and moral Wanda that through arc becomes a stronger moral character through her interaction with Kurt. They didn't delve into the dumber stupidity and complications with Wanda's characters and her hex powers.

That's certainly true. Not only do I think Scarlet Witch was handled well in WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN, I'd dare say it was her best animated appearance to date. And she's actually shown up in quite a few shows, not only X-MEN and X-MEN: EVOLUTION, but IRON MAN and AVENGERS: UNITED THEY STAND (ugh). At first I bemoaned yet another stab with her on the Brotherhood, but the show made it work out quite well. It was one of Season 1's few pleasant surprises for me. If they handle Magik half as well, it could do wonders for her. Lord knows I managed to like Bishop here, and I usually can't stand him, either.
Oh, and behold a blurry cell phone shot of Deadpool for the show, from Comics Continuum: http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stori...9/deadpool.htm |

LOL, Comics Continuum resorting to posting blurry cell phone pictures now.
Couldn't they have asked Marvel for one?

Now that we are on this topic. Since we are getting Deadpool and Deadpool was a character we all really wanted to see last season especially after Hulk VS.
Who else might we see? Since we got the X-Force writers on the show, I'd like some more of that. Specifically James Proudstar. Also . . . ELIXIR! I don't think we ever got Elixir in season 1 even though we got a lot of X-Force and New X-men appearances. We even got Vanisher. Also, might we see the Shi'Ar, Lilandra, Guardian, etc. but maybe in a different form?

I wouldn't be surprised if Elixir popped up in some form in Season 2, since, like you said, characters from New X-Men and X-Force popped up in Season 1, either in the present or the future, like Hellion, X-23, and Vanisher. He's a handy healer, so why not?
While the image was blurry, I did like the Deadpool design for the show. He looked like he had a little more meat than in HULK VS. WOLVERINE, which was naturally designed by a different artist. It should be great; North voiced him well, and beyond the name, getting Deadpool past a network isn't as hard as some other characters. To be honest I am not eager for the Shi'ar. Aliens usually are distractions for what the X-Men as a premise are about and sometimes become an agenda unto themselves. In the comics, for instance, when none of the X-Writers wanted to deal with M-Day for about a year, they all just did alien stories. Ultimate X-Men tried to "revision" Lilandra and some of her Imperial Guard as cultists who worship the Phoenix, but the Hellfire Club (or "Inner Circle") already did that in Season 1, and I don't see a reason to repeat that. Aside for time-travel, WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN has kept threats Earth-based, and somewhat simple (mutants, robots, cyborgs, advanced tech, etc.) and I'd rather keep it that way. The only superhumans who weren't mutants or empowered by technology were the Hulk and the Wendigos, but that's nothing major. |

Well they re-worked Mojo or at least made Mojo so where Mojo's background is more of an enigma.
They can rework/reimagine Shi'Ar like you mentioned they did in Ultimate.

The Magik design we saw at Convention looked to be Illyana in her civvies. But hopefully she will have her costume.

So no horns or soul sword? I wonder just what kind of role she'll be playing. Will it be more than just Colossus' little sister?

Sounds fine. Again, I was never a fan of complicated demon/time travel origins, so I'm not missing horns or hooves. Her natural mutant powers involved her teleporting discs; maybe a "good" version of Blink (who is with the Genoshan Brotherhood in the show)? They could always re-imagine her Soul-sword as being just energy she manifests as part of her power, or they could even claim the "armor" she dons is similar to Colossus' full body armor, y'know, running in the family? Just brainstorming. |

Deadpool is going to be appearing in this? WOW. I'm so freakin' happy he is. I just wonder if he'll be able to act as he normally does. And I sure hope Nolan North does his voice, he was great in Hulk VS. DP was actually the best part of the movie, IMO.
I watched the new episode tonight, this show is getting awesome story-wise. So anyone know what episode(s) Deadpool will be appearing in?

I think they will push Deadpool's comedic and devil may care aspect and downplay his more sadistic and disturbed side. Like I doubt he'll make a comment about killing babies.
