Yeah, this has ended up being considerably better than I thought it would be at the start of last season. It's still not something that I have to watch week by week, but I've seen a handful of episodes and it's definitely better than the wannabe Twilight that I thought it would be. For one thing, the actors on this show actually have charisma.

This is kind of like the lovechild between Buffy/Twilight/True Blood. And they arent afraid to take risks which is nice.

So I had to babysit my bosses wife and kids ( dont even ask) and his wife suggested we hire out a film, so she took out the first season of The Vampire Diaries , im already into the 12th episode and I already want to see how this ends

I tried this extremely reluctantly in the summer this year and was expecting to hate it. It took a few episodes for me to get into it, but since then I've been hooked. I think it's misadvertised as a Twilight-esque angsty romance show, because that's such a small part of it and it's way beyond that. I love the kind of unofficial team that's forming (Elena, Stefan, Damon, Bonnie, Jeremy, Caroline, and Alaric) to take on Katherine. I didn't expect her to get caught out and trapped so soon - I wonder who's after Elena and who the team are gonna have to team up with Katherine to overcome. Obviously it's whoever Katherine faked her death to avoid and then needed a werewolf to defeat, so it must be a pretty big threat.

Great episode last night

I think this show would get more viewers if it wasnt called The Vampire Diaries. The name just makes it seem like its geared towards preteen girls

It's the CW's number one show in terms of popularity. If I hear of a show on CW it's either this or Supernatural.

Ok so I just finished season 1 and it wasnt as bad as I thought, Damon by far is the most interesting character out of the whole bunch(he is like Batman to Stefans Superman),His brother stefan just seems come off as a douchbag who likes to remind ppl that he has the hottest girl.

I'd take Bonnie over Elena any day of the week. Also caroline has gotten a lot hotter since she became a vampire. Not to mention a better character.

Bonnie/ elena is a hard choice, but I would take Caroline over both of them lol. She Is way hotter now that she's a vamp and she's way less annoying.

I don't know the reason but probably because all the other roles were already given to the white actors.

Blacks practicing witchcraft during the times of slavery & even after it was abolished, was probably more common than we will ever know especially in the shows backstory & history.

On a lighter note, I find Caroline's mother to be hot & then the mother of the guy who was recently turned into a werewolf she is also hot.

I can't think of her name but I do remember her playing Prescilla Presley in an Elvis tv movie many, many years ago & she was on a few other shows that I used to watch back in the 80's & early 90's.
